One Month Later- Christmas Eve

Today was Christmas Eve, so I invited Sabrina, the guys, and their girlfriends over to give Cassidee her gifts. It had only been thirty minutes and my living room was polluted with wrapping paper and toys.

"Ooh! What did you get from Angelo?" I smiled, peering over Cassidee's shoulder.

''An art set!" She cheered, holding it up. I sat down on the couch, smiling, and turned towards Angelo.

''You made her day.''

''Looks like you need to get a second fridge to hang up all that art.'' Balz chuckled. I smiled down at Cassidee and watched her play with her presents.

''Yeah. Hey! Where did Ricky run off to?''

''I think he's in the kitchen,'' Sabrina said, joining Cassidee on the floor. I got up from the couch and saw Ricky standing by the sink, looking out the window watching the snowfall.

''Rick?" He turned around and looked at me. "What's up?"

''I was, uh, just watching the snowfall out there. I hope it doesn't get too bad.''

"Something's bothering you. What's the matter?"

''You already know why.''

''Oh! Right, sorry.''

Ever since Ricky and Jess split, the holidays weren't so happy for him. Since they broke up three years ago, Ricky hasn't heard a thing about Jess or seen her.

''I hate the holidays.''

''Trust me things will get better.'' The doorbell rang and interrupted me from the conversation I and Ricky were having.

''Ugh! Who can that be now?"

''Chris?" I turned around to see Balz standing next to Jess, behind her legs were little twin boys.

''Jess?"

''Jessica!?" Ricky said, nearly fainting.

''Hi. Some things need to be said.''
