We came home from the hospital a few days later and we were anxious to start raising Mason and Cassidee together.

''We're home.'' I smiled, pulling into the driveway. I got out and unbuckled Cassidee, while Sabrina took Mason's carrier and carried him to the door. "Welcome home, little guy.''

''This is your new home.'' Sabrina smiled, setting down his carrier.

''He's so little and perfect,'' I said.

''Yeah.'' Sabrina smiled.

''Now what?" I asked, chuckling.

''I'm going to get some sleep, can you watch him?'' She asked, setting Mason in his swing.

''Yeah because it's going to be a long night.''

She walked upstairs to our bedroom and closed the door, leaving me alone with Cassidee and Mason. Something tells me I'm not going to get much sleep tonight, so I better rest while I can.

3 AM

Mason woke me up with his cries, so I got out of bed and picked him up, rocking him trying to calm him down. I got him to go back to sleep and set him back in his crib and climbed back into bed.

''I could've gotten him,'' Sabrina spoke up.

''It's okay, no problem.''

Two more times of getting up, this time for diaper changes, Mason started up again.

''Can you get him?" I mumbled, poking Sabrina. I didn't even get a response, so I tapped her again. ''Hey, Mason's crying.''

''What?"

''Mason needs you. I already did it twice, please you do it this time.''

''You're already awake.''

''So are you, just help me,'' I said, getting out of bed.

''I'll do it in a little bit,'' Sabrina mumbled, rolling over in bed.

I rolled my eyes and picked up Mason from his crib, taking care of him for the rest of the night.

The next morning I was sitting on the couch when Sabrina and Cassidee walked downstairs.

''Hi, Daddy, Mason.'' She smiled at me.

''Morning.''

''Hey,'' Sabrina said, walking into the kitchen.

''Hello.'' She got Cassidee and herself some food and sat next to me on the couch.

''Mason cried all night!" Cassidee complained.

''I know, but he's a baby and it's what they do,'' I said, hoping that would get Sabrina to apologize to me. Mason's her baby too, not just mine.

''Sorry, I was a little snappy with you last night.''

''I forgive you.'' She smiled.

I just rolled my eyes and focused my attention back on the TV.
