"So how's the fatherhood life been treating you?" I asked Ricky as I watched our kids play together.

''Honestly, I like it. I got two smaller versions of me.''

''Oh God!'' I laughed. I can only imagine how Milo and Braxton are going to be when they become teenagers. Then that got me thinking of how Cassidee might turn out.

''Hey, they could turn out like me and start a kick-ass band or something.''

''True. What about their mother? Where do you and Jess stand?"

''I get them every day after daycare while she works.'' I nodded my head listening. "So what's up with you and Sabrina? You two have been seeing each other for nearly a month.''

''I like her, dude. I'm taking her out to dinner and I'm going to ask if she wants to be my girlfriend.''

''How do you think Cassidee will handle it? I mean having someone who isn't her mother being with her father all the time?" I leaned back on the couch and ran my hand through my hair.

''I don't know. I haven't talked to her about it.''

''I think it'll go smooth and she'll like having a mother figure around.''

''Yeah, that would be nice.''

I was upstairs in the bedroom, fixing my shirt and tie when the doorbell rang.

"I got it!" Cassidee yelled, running down the steps. I straightened myself out and quickly ran down the steps, but Cassidee had already opened the door. There in a dark blue dress and black heels was Sabrina.

"Cass, what did I say about answering the door?"

''If you're wondering if she asked before opening it, she did.'' Sabrina smiled.

''Good. Come in, I'm just waiting for Ricky to come over.'' She walked in and took a seat on the couch. "I'm going to finish getting ready, just make yourself comfortable.'' I ran upstairs, going into the bedroom.

I hope tonight goes as planned. The doorbell rang again and this time I came back downstairs, answering the door myself.

''Cassie!" Braxton yelled, running in and hugging Cassidee.

''I see he couldn't contain his excitement.'' I chuckled, letting Ricky and Milo come in. "Sabrina, you remember my friend Ricky and his two boys.''

"Yes. Hello.''

''Hello.''

''Alright, we're going to head out. Cass, come here for a second.'' She stopped playing with the boys and ran over to me. I kneeled in front of her and tucked her hair behind her ears.

''Yes, Daddy?"

''I'm going out, but I will be back, so I want you to be good for Ricky. Play with Braxton and Milo and before you know it, I'll be home.'' I smiled. Cassidee gave me a frown, nodding her head.

''Fine.'' She turned around and went back to playing with her friends. I looked up at Ricky who had his eyebrows raised at me.

''She'll be fine. Go out and have a nice time.'' I nodded my head and walked out of the house with Sabrina. We got into the car and drove off to the restaurant in complete silence.

''Cassidee will be ok. She has Ricky and his sons are playing with her.'' Sabrina spoke up.

''But did you see how she replied to me and turned on her heel? I ticked her off.''

''You did not, she'll quickly get over it since she has friends over.''

''I hope so.''

Ricky's POV

"Who wants popcorn?'' I asked, walking in with a large bowl. The boys jumped off the couch and ran over to me, grabbing the bowl. Cassidee just sat in her spot, eyes fixated on the movie I put in, which was Frankenweenie.

''Don't eat it all!'' Braxton yelled, smacking Milo's hand.

''Share with Cassidee too,'' I said, sitting next to her. "Cassidee, do you want some popcorn?" She shook her head and continued watching the movie.

''Yeah! Milo will eat the whole bowl!"

''What's the matter? You're never this quiet around me.'' I knew exactly why she wasn't talking. It was because Chris had gone out tonight, she was highly pissed and holding it in. ''Cassidee?''

''Cassie?" Braxton whined, poking her arm.

''Leave me alone.'' She pulled back her arm and got up from the couch, running upstairs. I got up and followed her into her room. I opened the door and saw her lying there, her back facing me.

''Cassidee, will you tell me what's wrong?"

''No.''

''Come on, you've told me everything since we met.'' I sat on the edge of her bed. ''Did the boys make you mad?"

''No.''

''Did I do something?"

''No.''

''Well, something happened.'' She quickly sat up, her little face was red and tear-stained.

''My daddy doesn't love me anymore.'' I scooped her into my arms and tightly hugged her.

''Now you know that's not true, your dad loves you very much, too much to be exact. Why would you say that?"

''H-he doesn't want to be around me no-no more, he's always with Sa-Sabrina.''

''I know you're young, but you'll understand one day when you're older.''

''I understand now.''

''Do you?" She nodded her head and gave a small smile.
