"How could they let her out of the wacky shack? Knowing she's never going to be right in the head?" Angelo asked, pacing the living room.

''Who knows? Maybe her time was up in there?" Ghost shrugged.

''Yeah well her time will be up when she sees me,'' I said, opening and closing my fists. I can't believe she would do this to me. I mean she just did, but why now? I can only imagine what poor Cassidee is going through right now.

Samantha's POV

''Mommy, I'm thirsty,'' Cassidee complained from the back seat. I rolled my eyes and looked around for a nearby drive-thru or something to shut her up.

''We'll get something soon.''

''You said that earlier! I. WANT. SOMETHING. TO. DRINK!''

''If you don't stop screaming I'm going to take you to William's! Do you want that?!'' I heard her huff and saw her fold her arms over her chest from the rearview mirror.

My phone rang and I looked down to see it was my current boyfriend William calling. I picked it up and answered it.

''Hello?"

''You do know every cop in Pennsylvania is looking for you and your daughter right?!" He freaked out.

''Shut up! They aren't going to find us because I'm heading to Philadelphia and then you're meeting us in New York.''

''They got cops at the borders, you idiot! Samantha, it's over, turn yourself in!"

''How ironic is that coming from a junkie's mouth! I'm not leaving her with Mr. Perfect Rock Star!"

"Just leave the kid at a bus stop, call Chris and then we'll leave together.'' I hung up on William and slammed down on the gas.

''Nope.'' I smiled, looking out the windshield.

I was about to enter Philadelphia when there were two state troopers in my way! I threw my hoodie in the back seat at Cassidee and slowed down.

''Cassidee! Get down on the floor and cover yourself up! Don't ask, just do it and be quiet!" She got down on the floor and I slipped on my sunglasses. One of the troopers ordered me to roll down my window, so I did.

''Miss, have you seen this child by any chance?" He asked, showing me a picture of my daughter.

''No.''

''Can I ask where you're headed?''

''I'm going to visit my grandmother in Philadelphia.''

''Alright, well if you see this little girl make sure you contact someone, go on.'' I picked up my driving and threw my sunglasses in the passenger seat.

''Can I come out now?"

''No.'' I picked up my phone and called one of my friends who lived here.

''He-Hello?" She stuttered into the phone.

''Ask Jack to meet me in the parking lot of that old furniture warehouse. I need some cash and snow.''

''Ye-yeah! Where are you again?"

''Parking lot, furniture warehouse! He knows, just tell him!" I hung up my phone and pulled into the vacant parking lot.

About an hour later I saw Jack's car pull into the parking lot. I turned around and saw Cassidee had climbed back on the back seat, she was asleep, so this gave me the perfect opportunity. I got out of the car and got into Jack's.

''Alright. Kasey said you needed cash.'' He said, inhaling from his cigarette.

''Yeah.'' I nodded my head, looking down at my feet.

''You already know what to do.''

Thirty minutes later I ran over to my car and got in, starting it up. Closing the door caused Cassidee to wake up and she crawled up to the front, looking at me.

''Mommy, you're bleeding!'' She gasped, pointing to my nose and lip.

I touched my lip and pulled my fingers back, looking at the blood. ''I'll be fine, let's just try to find a place to sleep.''
