Day two in the hospital and Cassidee's doctors said she's making a great recovery. They're keeping her for a few more days, which she's not so thrilled about, but once her chest x-rays are clear she can go back home.
Balz and Ryan stopped over for an afternoon visit, so while they were entertaining her it gave me the opportunity to step out of the room, just for a couple of seconds. I walked down the hallway, going towards the coffee machine, and stopped at the water fountain. I lowered my face to the faucet and took three sips from the fountain.
''Oh, Hello.'' I turned around and saw the woman from yesterday. I stood up, wiping the corners of my mouth, and waved, smiling at her.
''You're back.'' I chuckled.
''Indeed. How's your daughter doing?"
''Better! Thanks for asking. Your friend's son, how's he?"
''He's good, he's coming home tomorrow, thanks.''
''Don't let that slip to my daughter, she'll flip.''
''I never did introduce myself to you yesterday morning. I'm Sabrina.'' She smiled, extending her hand.
''Chris.'' I shook her hand, smiling.
''There you are!" Balz said, walking up to us. ''I wondered where you went. Cass is looking for you.''
''Oh! Um, would you care to meet her?" I asked, smiling.
''I'd love to!" We followed Balz back to Cassidee's room and saw her coloring on a piece of paper.
"Daddy! Look what Ryan drew me!" She smiled, holding up a drawing of a half-colored rabbit. "I colored it myself!"
''That looks awesome.'' I smiled. Cassidee looked over at Sabrina and raised her eyebrows at her. Balz did the same thing and gave me a look that said: Explain who she is? "This is Sabrina.''
''Hello.'' She smiled, waving.
''Hi.'' They replied.
''We met yesterday morning while getting coffee, she's visiting someone here too. This is my friend Balz and his girlfriend Ryan and this is my daughter Cassidee.''
''Hello, Cassidee.''
''Hi.'' Cassidee slightly smiled.

"Your daughter is really into drawing. It's like she blocked out everyone in her room today.'' Sabrina said as I walked her to the elevator.
''She loves to draw and color, my fridge has become an art gallery.'' I laughed.
''That's cute.''
''When Cassidee gets discharged, can I take you to dinner sometime?"
''O-okay.'' Sabrina smiled, handing me her cellphone. ''Give me a call sometime, whenever Cassidee gets out, it's no rush.'' I gave her my phone and typed each other's number in.
I smiled, typing my number in, and handed it back to her. ''Alright. I'll talk to you sometime this week.''
''Sounds like a plan.'' The elevator doors opened up and she stepped inside, waving as the doors closed.
How is Cassidee going to take this?
