Chapter 16

It was late and they were going to be late and Bruce was going to kill them. Mar'i was having a melt down and they didn't know why. "Baby what's wrong?l Zatanna asked as the girl looked up at her. "My friend said that he couldn't come and see me anymore but that I would see him soon. But I don't understand that!" She cried out as Zatanna patted her head.

Dick fixed his tie quickly before walking out into the living room. "Well damn you two look good" he said as Zatanna's cheeks flushed a light shade of red. Mar'i sniffled and then began giggling. "Are we going to Grandpa's house now?" She asked as Dick nodded. The drive there was silent and very nerve wrecking. Bruce was very unpredictable at times and they didn't know why he wanted them over.

He had only been in the Manor for a year before they moved to Happy Harbor but it still looked the same. Knocking on the door Mar'i hid behind Dick clutching onto the back of his dress shirt. "Master Dick, Miss Zatanna it is quite lovely to see you both" Alfred said as Mar'i popped her head out from behind Dick. "Hello Miss Mar'i I didn't see you there" Alfred said as she gave him a nervous smile.

They walked in as both Mar'i and Zatanna gasped. "Woah" she said as Mar'i did the same. This place was huge! "You lived here Daddy?" Mar'i asked as he nodded with a small smile. "Dick's here!" A voice yelled as Tim walked into the room. "Uncle Tim!" Mar'i yelled. Zatanna and Dick both laughed because Mar'i was just so full of joy.

Bruce walked out flashing them all his usual smile. "Dick, Zatanna" he greeted a little surprised to see Zatanna here. "Grandpa!" Mar'i yelled giving him a hug as well. She never shied away from giving her family affection. "So why the big dinner?" Dick asked raising an eyebrow. "Well, this is-"

"Stephanie, what are you doing?" Tim yelled.

A loud crashing sound was heard before a blonde girl popped her head out. "Don't be such a spoiler, Tim!" She yelled as everyone stared in confusion. "This is Stephanie Brown and she will be staying here. She's part of the family now as well as someone else" Bruce said as Tim let out an annoyed sigh. Dick grinned because he had an idea now.

Stephanie and Tim both didn't look very happy about the other person. "I have a son-"

"With who?" Dick asked immediately.

"Talia al Ghul" Tim added.

"Her really Bruce? Even Selina is better" Dick said.

"Ahem" A smaller voice said.

They all looked beside Bruce to now see a mini version of him standing there. "I see Fatgirl has made her entrance" the boy said as Stephanie scowled at him. Mar'i's eyes lit up when she saw him as she smiled. "Friend!" She yelled running over and giving him a hug. "Why are you touching me? Is this some form of affection that's supposed to make me like you?" He asked as she grinned happily.

Dick was a little uneasy about this as he tugged Mar'i away from him. "This is Damian" Bruce said as the boy sharpened his look. "Mommy, Daddy this is my friend that was at my window that I told you about. Now I know his name and you've met him" she said as Dick and Zatanna shared concerned looks with each other. "Dinner will be ready in an hour so please do make yourself at home" Alfred said as they nodded all heading to the living room. On the way there Dick pulled Stephanie to the side. "So you're like my sister now, right?" he asked as her eyes lit up.

"Yes it would be an honour and-" she began to say before being cut off.

"Hey so sis do you mind like watching Mar'i every day?" he asked.

"I mean sure but why?" she asked as he smiled looking over at Zatanna.

"No reason but thank's sis I'll call you around like next week" he said before walking into the living room.
