It was dark and she refused to leave her bed. Her phone still tossed to the floor. It would buzz every hour or so. Her gaze was fixed onto the photo frame on her bedside table. It was a picture of her and the girls. That was taken so long ago. It was hard to even remember the day. There was a knock on the door. However she didn't even bat an eye when hearing the noise.

Even he was beginning to get annoyed now. She wasn't answering any of his texts or calls. In fact he was a little worried. "Come on Angelfish open up" he said before continuing on with knocking. The sound was bouncing off of the walls inside of the place. "Y'know I came to surprise my girlfriend and when I arrive she doesn't even answer the bloody door" he said, the bouquet of flowers being held loosely in his hand.

It didn't take an idiot to know what happened. Nearly everyone in this god forsaken city knew. Miraculously a sliver of the door suddenly opened. She peeked out to see La'gann standing there. A bouquet of lillies in his hand. He could see her watery auburn eyes. Staring directly at him as she sniffled. "La'gann, why are you here?" she asked, wiping the tears from her cheeks.

He stood there staring at her before quickly hanging over the bouquet. From what he could see the inside of her room was pitch black. Not even a single speck of light located inside. "Can I come in?" he asked.

"Now's not a very good time La'gann" she said, eyes trained on the flowers.

"But Angelfish-" he began to say.

"I'll see you later" she said before shutting the door.

The two of them arrived at his apartment a few minutes later. Its not like he lived far away. "Wally what did he say on the phone?" she asked following him quickly up the steps. It was a good thing she did a lot of cardio. Otherwise she may have just fainted from running up the seemingly never-ending flights. "He was crying and-god I couldn't even understand him" he said as they exited the stairwell.

The hallway was silent. Then again it was still early in the morning. Most people were probably still sleeping. They stopped in front of the door. Wally eagerly beginning to knock. Almost immediately it opened up. However it was Dick who answered the door. "Oh hello Uncle Wally, Auntie Artemis" the girl said as they looked down at her. She looked so sad. Artemis' heart broke to see her in such an upsetting state.

After all she knew what it was like to lose her mother. Except her goodbye was more graphic than the one Mar'i experienced. "Where's your dad?" she asked as the girl shrugged letting them in. For the most part the place was a mess. "Is something wrong?" she asked following the two young adults. Wally looked back at his girlfriend. The two of them sharing a look.

The blonde turned around to face the young girl. A small smile appearing on her face. "Why don't we take a seat and you tell me about school?" she said as the girl nodded. Wally leaving to go investigate the rest of the place. "What is she doing here?" a voice said as the two entered the living room. Taking a seat on the long couch in front of the television. "This is my Aunt Artemis, Aunt Artemis this is Damian" Mar'i said introducing the two.

Artemis's heart melted like butter. The two of them looked so cute. All she needed to do was distract Mar'i. If anything bad were to happen she didn't want her to see it. "What have you been doing?" Artemis asked trying to make conversation.

"Um...stuff" she answered.

"She's been taking care of Grayson and the rest of this place all by herself" Damian said with his arm's crossed.

Artemis just stared in disbelief at the girl. Was that the truth? Had she been doing everything herself? Dick was her father, he was the one supposed to be taking care of her. It wasn't supposed to be the other way around. She was going to have a talk with her friend. Zatanna leaving was one thing but he still had a daughter he needed to take care of.
