"Mrs. Minter," I heard Ethan greet my mum in urgency.
"Simon wanted to see us," I heard Em's voice, surprised she came with him.
"I'm not sure if right now is a good time," my mother began.
"No. Excuse me for being rude, but yes it is."
I knew that last voice. It was JJ.
They started to run up the stairs. I had been trying to take calming breaths, but it wasn't working.
"SIMON!" Ethan shouted, seeing me on the ground.
Tobi, Josh, Em, and most importantly, JJ were in the doorway. They all had worry lines creased in their faces.
"Help.." I say weakly.
Ethan rushed downstairs to get me a glass of water. Tobi and Em crouched next to me, feeling my forehead and holding my hand.
JJ stood there limply, not knowing what to do. I stared at him, angry at myself for letting him see me like this. A sickly and crying mess. I had just become friends with these people. Why were they helping me like this? Would they be okay with my sexuality?
JJ started to take notice of my stare. He started to approach me and I immediately relaxed a bit.
"Ay, mate. Are you alright?" I tried to nod numbly. He got closer, and Tobi moved over a bit.
I started to be able to sit up. JJ helped me prop myself against my bed. Ethan came back with the water, and he gave it to me.
"What just happened, Simon? Has it happened before?" Josh asked.
I shook my head.
"Should we tell your mom?" Tobi questioned cautiously.
"No. I don't want her to worry. She has enough on her plate already."
"Do you know what triggered it?" JJ asked. He was scrolling through google on his phone, looking for a diagnosis.
"I'm...." I started. No.. I can't tell them! I'll lose my only friends, "... I'm not quite sure."
