PART THREE

Five Months Later

Simon's POV

It was the wedding day. It was outside and the weather was gorgeous for once. There were rows upon rows of red and white chairs. Multitudes of people came, probably over 500. I had no idea who half of them were, to be quite honest. Underneath the covered area, where the reception was to be, there was a large table full of sweets. It was a huge assortment, from decadent brownies to a bowl of Randoms to the large four layer cake. It was a wine red color and it almost looked so shiny and smooth that it wasn't meant to be eaten. There was light blue piping all around the edges of the it. I stood there and admired the work.

It obviously was not Ethan who planned the wedding, even though it had a combination of Liverpool AND West Ham written all over it. He had been extremely lax over the past few months, but Em had gone full bridezilla on him. Ethan decided just to stay out of her way, and spent most of his time making videos and sleeping in our flat. He was also looking at possible homes to move into, since obviously him and E weren't going to live in the same flat as me. And I was going to move into JJ's penthouse once we were married. I guess that meant our flat was going to a new owner.

I hadn't seen Ethan since yesterday, which was extremely odd since I was his best man. I was reluctantly wearing a tight suit. JJ picked it out because he thought I looked handsome in it. I was suffocating. He promised me I could wear something less constraining at our ceremony, which was going to be in two months.

I was still standing next to the sweet bar when Ethan sprinted up to me. He was missing a bow tie and he hadn't put on a belt.

"Ethan!" I hissed and pulled him aside, "people are starting to sit down! Where's your tie? Where is your belt? Do you want your pants to fall down in the middle of your vows?"

"No, no, no." He shook his head, bright red, remembering the time in class his pants fell, "I woke up late and rushed over here come on help me do my tie while I put on my belt Si."

We rushed into the men's loo and I tied the bow tie for him. Then we splashed his face with water and dabbed it with a towel. Ethan seemed so nervous that I swore he was going to piss himself.

"Ethan," I grabbed his shoulders and lightly shook him, "It's going to be fine. This is going to be the best moment of your life." He nodded, taking calming breaths. I patted him on the back. "Let's go."

~~~
Ethan stood up on the altar and I stood right by him, beaming cheek to cheek. I saw JJ in one of the first rows making faces at me. I also saw all of my friends. Harry looked very rugged, like he had just run through a windstorm. Tobi looked even more fashionable than usual, somehow pulling off a maroon suit. There was also Manny, Vik, Josh, and both Callums.
Then I looked straight down the aisle. Em was standing there, looking amazing.
Her veil was a rosy white, laced with gold. The top of her dress was tight fitting, but it flowed out over her large baby bump, being more than halfway through her pregnancy. She was somehow wearing a pair of heels.
I held back the tears as she walked down the aisle. I just remembered little Ethan and little Emmica sitting together at the lunch table, fighting over FIFA and football. It has been so long since then, but it felt like it was just minutes ago that it happened.
It all then happened in a blur. Suddenly they were exchanging vows, telling each other how they would love each other, no matter how much they hated each other's choice of Premiership team. It was so sweet, and then they kissed. I swore I saw JJ dabbing his eyes for the first time in my life. Maybe he was more emotional than I thought.
~~~

At the reception I stood by the wall, sipping a beer. Everybody else seemed to be partying on the dance floor, including JJ. He tried to convince me to go and dance with him, but I refused. I told him I'd rather watch. Maybe I seemed boring, but I just wasn't a dancer.

JJ's POV

I had been arguing in my head for these past months, trying to decide if I should tell Simon about Cal. I didn't think I could marry him unless I got it out of me. It just didn't seem right. Today I mustered up the bravery to do it.

Though I was a bit tipsy from all of the alcohol, I decided to still go through with it. I pulled Simon away from the corner and asked him to go away from the crowds with me. He nodded.

"Is everything alright Jide?" Simon asked, concerned. I nodded. At least I hoped it would be alright.

We sat down on a bench near the road. I watched cars and trucks go by.

"I need to tell you something. I'll get it if you're mad, okay?"

He nodded again, seeming even more agonized.

"You know how I wasn't mad because of yours and Tobi's kiss?" I asked, my hands shaking a bit. I clasped them together. "It was because I had done the same thing a few days before."

Simon gave me a confused look. "What? What did you do Jide."

"With Cal-"

"With Cal?!" He said accusingly.

"Yes. And he stayed over and-"

"He stayed over? At your flat?" His voice was starting to rise. Oh God.

"Yes. And Simon, I am so sorry. I was hoping you would understand because-"

"What? Because I made the same mistake as you? No Jide, we didn't make the same mistake. Tobi kissed me. You knew what you were doing with Cal, didn't you!"

I looked at the ground shamefully.

Simon stood up and shook his head. "I'm not having this."

Simon's POV

I couldn't go back to the reception, and I definitely couldn't stay with JJ. My stomach was boiling with anger. Of course everything couldn't be perfect as I had hoped. Maybe JJ honestly wasn't the right one for me. He's too free for marriage.

"Simon, please." Jide tried to grab my hand but I pulled away.

"No Olajide!" I bolted across the street, the only way out of the situation. I couldn't just stay there anymore.

"Simon! Wait!" He shouted, stepping into the road.

I turned and started to walk faster away from him.

"Simon!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.

Alarmed, I turned around. And for the second time in my life, I slowly watched a truck pound on the breaks just a little too late. I slowly watched the truck slam into Olajide Olatunji with all of its might. I slowly watch Olajide Olatunji fly through the air soundlessly, and then hit the ground.
