We waited. And waited. And waited.

It felt like we were sitting in that lobby for days on end. It was getting late, everyone had gone home except for our crew. There was a low hum of whispering emanating from the group. I couldn't stop pacing. Then, a nurse opened a door.

"Are any of you Mr. Olatunji's family? We need some paperwork signed."

I rose up, "Is he okay?"

"Are you related to him?" She asked, avoiding the question.

"I'm his fiance," I replied in a whisper.

"That'll be fine." The nurse waves me over so I could do so.

I scribbled a few things down in a daze. A tear escaped from my eye and fell onto the paper, smudging the ink.

"He's going to be fine. Don't worry."

I nod, and a sense of relief washed over me. It's going to be alright.
