Okay I said I was working on a new story and I am... but I decided I'm not going to publish any of it just yet....
Soon. You won't know when, but soon. :P

We waited in the small, metal box for it seemed like eternity. It creaked back and forth. For most of the time we sat in silence, listening to each others breathing. JJ started to laugh. I stared at him in shock. Why was he laughing? To be honest, he never was one to get scared, or ever be serious. Never serious.
When he took a small break to breathe, "I really hate this."
"Being so close to me?" We were stretched out on the floor.
"No," his breathing was a bit ragged, "I don't like this... this tiny cube dangling 100 meters off the ground?"
I grabbed his hand bravely. I was never the brave one. I let everyone else do it for me, "how about I call Ethan?" I asked. JJ nodded, and I dialed Ethan's cell. No answer.
JJ shook his head, "what about the other boys that live here?" (basically Stratford Halo alright Tobi, Cal, Callux, Ethan, and Harry all live there and guess who's gon be in the story now?)
Well Cal lives here, I thought. I didn't want to get help from him though. I thought about it.
"Tobi," JJ says.
I hadn't seen him either. There were so many people I still had to catch up with, I realized. But I still had his number in my contacts, so I called him as well.
"Who's this?" I heard a gentle, kind voice. Tobi. My thoughts went back in time. Harry the bully. Tobi the boy who was nice to everyone.
"It's Simon," there was a choky laugh on the other side of the line.
"Simon? Oh my God. I subscribed to your channel. You're living above me now, right?" he laughed.
JJ motioned me to get to the point. He seemed extremely agitated.
"Tobi, I'm sorry I can't actually talk right now. We're in a bit of trouble."
"What? Who's we? Why are you in trouble?" He sounded worried.
"JJ and I. We're stuck in the elevator on the 37th floor."
"Stuck? Like it actually stopped? Simon, I'm going to get the doorman right now!" I head him rustle around, and then hung up.
"Thank you Simon," JJ mumbled. I rested my arm around his neck, pulling his head close to my chest, "why are people so good to me?"
"Because you deserve it," I said softly in return.
He shook his head, "I don't. I've done bad things in the past, and they still come back to haunt me."
I swore I saw the word Callum in his mouth, or maybe it was just my guilt talking, "we all have. You are human, Jide. Don't beat yourself up." The exact advice I probably should've been giving to myself. I probably needed it as well. If JJ was thinking of the incident with Cal, then my reaction to it all wasn't overreacting, "we were stupid kids back then."
"I've always been a stupid kid-" he paused, "wait, when are you talking about?"
I knit my eyebrows together, about to speak. Then there was a clang at the lift door.
"Are you guys okay!?" I heard Tobi's voice shout through the wall.
"WE'RE ALL GOOD!" JJ screeched back.
"The mechanics guy is going to pry open the door, okay?"
"GOOD." JJ yelled again. He was acting different. Maybe it was relief?
There were a few sounds and whirs from the other side, and then light beamed through. JJ and I burst out of the tight space.
"Fresh air!" I gasped.
"You're inside," Tobi laughed.
"Fresher air!" JJ chanted, inhaling and dancing around, "thanks Tobi."
Tobi nodded, "it's near one o'clock, what are you guys doing out so late?"
"JJ was just-" I started, then JJ cut me off.
"We were going out to get some popcorn for our movie. Ethan didn't restock," he said bluntly, and left it at that.
What was he doing? I tried to keep a straight face, but I saw Tobi staring at me.
"Simon, you want to catch up? I mean, it's late and all, but I haven't seen you in a literal decade!" Tobi grinned.
"Well..." I glanced over to JJ.
"It's good. You guys catch up. Simon and I can watch that movie some other time," JJ gave a cheesy smile.
Tobi turned and started walking, "let's take the stairs this time."
I followed him, but turned around to see JJ wink at me.
