Okay, just a heads up but remember that Elliot has no idea that Alfie is gay. So it's understandable that he is going to be extremely jealous.

Chapter Twenty-One

Elliot's POV

"When will I be able to go into her room?" I asked one of the nurses sweetly. She looked young, 20 or so.

"U-um," she stared at me. Yeah, I had that effect on girls. But I couldn't care less about this nurse right now. I needed to go see Joey and fast. "Sorry sir, but you can't. We will inform you when you can,"

Then she walked away.

I ran a hand through my hair.

I just arrived at the hospital and it's been what seemed like hours but really only a few minutes. The emergency light on the outside of the operation room has yet to turn off and I was pacing around like a madman. Was she going to be okay? Was there going to be any issues with her after this accent? It looked like she hit her head really hard on the concrete.

I shuddered at the memory of the scary pool of blood that hard formed around her head.

Where was Alfie and the teacher? I pulled out my phone and dialed his number.

"Mate, I'm on my way with Mr. Keeting but the traffic is really bad right now. I think everyone is rushing to go see the fireworks. It is almost ten," Alfie explained and I could tell he was worried about his "friend".

"Okay, just get here as fast as you can," I said hastily.

"Elliot?" Mr. Keeting's spoke. I guess he took the phone out of Alfie's hand.

"Yes?"

"Tell me everything,"

So I told him. From the play to the phone call to the crying, and then, to the accident. He was silent all along.

"Please call her parents. I will text you her parent's number right now," he sounded beyond worry. You know when you're so scared that your voice has nearly no emotion? Yeah, that's what he sounded like at that moment.

"Okay,"

"Okay. Goodbye,"

Just as the text showed up on my phone, a nurse hurried out of the operation room. Her face full of concern. This didn't sound good.

"Who is the relative of Joey Rose Taylor?" she called out to no one in particular. There was so many people in the hospital at the moment that no one even bothered to turn around. They all had their own issues to deal with.

"Um. I am?" I walked up to the nurse quickly.

"And you are..." she pulled out a clipboard out of nowhere.

"I'm actually not her relative-" I was cut off.

"Alright, are her parents here?" she sounded very impatient.

"No, they're n-" once again, I was interrupted. What was it with New Yorkers and their interrupting?

"Okay, so what is the relationship between Joey and you?" she started to write furiously.

"I'm Elliot Hunter and I'm her f-" but if I said "friend", she would probably not let me, "boyfriend. I really do care about her and I'm really worried, is she okay?"

Ok, maybe I shouldn't have said the part about caring about her. If I really was her boyfriend, I wouldn't say that.

She raised an eyebrow,"okay...well, here's thing," she pulled me over to a chair and sat me down.
