I was heading back from the Eastfarthing Woods. It was almost nighttime. The sun was setting quickly and the sky was a dark shade of blue. I ran quickly down an old dirt road that would lead me back to the village of Hobbiton. The wind was blowing in my hair and the rush of adrenaline filled my heart.
When I had almost made it to the front gate to Bag End, I saw Frodo standing in the garden. He waved to me politely and smiled. After I waved back to him, I found myself running too and I tripped over a large rock that stood right in front of me. I fell with a loud thud onto the dirt pathway and I twisted my right ankle. I let out a cry in pain.
Frodo's smile quickly turned into a frown. He ran down the front porch and opened up the front gate. He rushed over to me and placed a hand on my back. There were tears streaming down my face like two giant waterfalls. "Brianna, are you alright?! What happened?", Frodo asked me, in a concerned tone of voice. "I-I-I tripped and twisted my ankle. I can't get up!", I whimpered. "H-H-Help me."
Frodo carefully lifted me up from the ground and carried me in his arms. I clutched at Frodo's neck and I cried into his chest. He dashed towards the front porch and opened up the front door.
After we made it inside, Frodo. took me to my bedroom and laid me down gently on my mattress. He sat down beside me and examined my sore, twisted ankle. "Oh, Frodo. It hurts so much!", I whimpered. Frodo saw a big black bruise near my ankle. "Oh, no. You have a horrible bruise." "I do?" "Don't worry, dear. I'll get some warm, damp cloths and some bandages. I'm going to get you all fixed up." "Hurry, Frodo.", I snivelled. "It...It....hurts. It hurts."
Frodo shuffled over to me. He placed his hand on my forehead and kissed it, tenderly. "I know it hurts. Don't worry, It's going to be alright, dear.", he reassured.
Frodo got up from the mattress and went to go and search for some cloths and bandages. He found some cloths in a nearby closet. Frodo headed to the bathroom, turned on the sink, and ran them under some lukewarm water. He ringed them and made sure that the cloths were damp enough. He carried the cloths in his right hand and walked out of the bathroom.
Frodo dashed over to another closet, which stood near the kitchen. He opened up the closet door, snatched the bandages, a pair of scissors, and some dressing.
I was waiting patiently for Frodo's return. He rushed back to my room and placed the cloths, the bandages, the scissors and the dressing on my nightstand. He grabbed one of the warm cloths and dabbed at my ankle. "Ow, ow, ow!", I writhed in pain. "It hurts! Oh, Frodo, It hurts!" My green eyes turned watery and tears sprinkled down my cheeks.
Frodo stopped for a brief moment and looked over at me. "Frodo, it hurts.", I whined again. Frodo moved in closer to me. His blue eyes lit up like the night sky. He kissed me tenderly on my forehead. "Shh, shh. I know it does. I know.", he whispered in my ear. "I promise that it won't take long." "You promise?"
Frodo nodded his head, slowly. He set the cloth down on my nightstand and reached over for the dressing and the scissors. He moved towards my ankle and placed both of his hands underneath it. "Can I see your ankle, dear? I just need to wrap it up.", Frodo spoke in a soft, reassuring voice.
"But, it will hurt if you lift it.", I whined. "I'll be very gentle.", Frodo whispered. "But, But, It will..." "Shh. Trust me." "You promise that you'll be gentle?" "I promise.", Frodo whispered again.
"Alright.", I whimpered. Frodo lifted my ankle up steadily and he slowly wrapped the dressing around it. Frodo tied the dressing in place to make sure that it wouldn't fall off and he snatched some bandages from the nightstand and placed them on some small cuts on my leg.
"That's much better.", Frodo smiled. "How does that feel?" "A little better, I guess.", I smiled, weakly. Frodo grabbed the bedsheets and the comforter from the end of my bed and tucked me in, comfortably. "Are you hungry or thirsty, my love?" "I am a little thirsty. Can I have a glass of water?"
Frodo patted my head. "Of course you can."
Frodo walked over to the kitchen and snatched a glass pitcher. He filled it up all the way with cold water. Frodo opened up a small cupboard filled with glasses, mugs, teacups, plates and bowls. He took a small glass and the glass pitcher along with him and headed back to my bedroom.
Frodo set the glass pitcher on my nightstand and filled the glass cup halfway with water. "Thank you, Frodo.", I said, while grabbing the glass cup that Frodo handed to me. I took a small sip of water from the glass and set it down on the nightstand.
"Anything else that you need?", Frodo asked me, politely. "No, thank you.", I responded. "Would you like me to stay here beside you?" Frodo's light blue eyes lit up like two giant lightbulbs. They were full of innocence and kindness.
"You would do that for me?" Frodo nodded his head and grinned. "Well, I guess you could stay with me. Sure."
Frodo brushed my hair back over my ears and kissed my forehead, tenderly. He took a hold of my hands and massaged them with his thumbs. "I'm so sorry, Frodo. This was all my fault. I wasn't being careful enough." I shook my head and frowned. "No, no, no. It's not your fault. It's not your fault. There's no need to apologize. It's alright.", Frodo spoke in a sympathetic tone of voice. He kissed me again on the forehead.
My eyelids were drooping down. I was fatigued and exhausted. Sleep was quickly growing on me. I let out a soft yawn. "You look tired, m'love.", said Frodo, softly. I nodded my head in agreement. I slowly lowered my eyelids and fell into a deep sleep.
Frodo kissed my cheek with his soft, warm, and caring lips. He brushed my hair one last time. "Nighty night.", Frodo whispered in my ear.
