What he did:

--- Kit rarely upset you, but when he did, it was usually because he did something ignorantly. When he messed up, it was almost always because he didn't listen. He couldn't help it; his mind would drift to work & bills & of course, coming home to his beautiful lover (aka you) always made his mind turn to mush to the point where he couldn't focus.

---"Kit! Are you even listening you me??"
--- "Sorry, Sweethawt, your eyes are jus' so beautiful..."

--- Basically, Kit has issues focusing, but who wouldn't when someone as gorgeous & perfect as you was dating them?

The argument:

--- As usual, Kit got distracted again while you talked to him. Plus, you had a shitty day, so your mood was already a bad one & Kit clearly not listening threw you over the edge.

---"You know what? Just forget it. You never listen."
--- "Sweethawt---"
--- "No, Kit, just drop it. I'm going to bed. I'm tired of talking to the walls."

How he'd react:

--- He would instantly feel so guilty & profusely apologize as he thought of ways to make it up to you.

--- "I'm so sorry sweethawt I swea' I didn't mean to just please fo' the love of God let me make it up to you..."

---He would practically beg you to forgive him, doing whatever it takes to make that happen.

What he'd do:

---Kit would spoil you rotten when he really upset you, taking you anywhere (& everywhere) you wanted to go, buying you whatever you wanted, & getting you your favorite food.

---Of course, he'd also try romanticizing you, which often led to passionate yet cautious love-making.

Sneak Peek:

"Kit I can't believe you right now! I asked you to do one, simple thing & what do you do? Not do it," you groaned in frustration, lashing out at your husband. You asked him to pick up some milk on the way home & of course he didn't do it. It was a seemingly minor thing to be mad about, but considering the fact that you had told him every day for the past few days to do so & he still hasn't done it, you were pretty pissed.

"I'm so sorry, Sweethawt I completely forgot---"

"Yeah, you always 'completely forget'. Why is it so hard for you to remember to pick up a goddamn gallon of milk??"

He frowned at you, knowing it was difficult for you being alone with the kids all day & most of the night while he worked, "I honestly don't know---"

"For God's sake, Kit, I can't do everything! I take care of the kids, keep the house clean, manage our finances, & cook, what more do you want from me?"

"Sweethawt---"

You held a hand up in frustration, "Save it, Mr. Walker," he scowled. You only called him that when you were extremely upset with him. You pushed past him & went upstairs to the bedroom you shared, leaving Kit alone with his guilt in the kitchen.

"I'm soway," he whispered, "I'm so soway I can't do anything right."

He brought a hand to his face & ran it through his hair nervously. He fiddled with the ring on his finger, wondering why he was such an awful husband to you. He tried his hardest, but it never seemed to be enough. He didn't know what else to do.

Until an idea popped into his head.

A wide grin spread onto his face as he went to grab the long-forgotten picnic basket from the hall closet. He grabbed a blanket & set the items down on the kitchen table as he grabbed his keys. He made a quick stop to the local mini-mart & bought milk, along with some snacks & sweets. When he came back home, he stuffed the goodies into the picnic basket, grabbed it with the blanket, & stepped outside. He brought his ladder to the side of the house & climbed up onto the roof. As he reached the top, he set the picnic basket down & jumped onto the roof. He splayed the blanket out & set the basket beside it before he retreated down the ladder.

He walked back into the home he shared with you & went to your bedroom. You were already asleep, breathing softly as Kit quietly tiptoed over to you. He gave your shoulder a little shake, "Sweethawt? Wake up," your face contorted in distaste as you arose from your slumber, slowly opening your eyes. When you saw who awoke you, you glared at him softly before you turned around so your back faced him. Kit pouted, "Aw come on now, don't be like that."

You sighed, knowing he would just be stubborn & keep pestering you until you gave in, so you turned around to meet his gaze once more, "What do you want?"

"Come outside."

You exhaled loudly in irritation, "Kit, it's nearly two in the morning I'm not---"

"Please?" he begged, his eyes pleading with you. You groaned & began to get out of bed. Kit smiled softly & moved back to give you room as you pulled on your slippers. You followed him outside & stopped when you reached the ladder.

"Oh Hell no I am not climbing up there in a nightgown & slippers."

Kit rolled his eyes, "Fine," he gently picked you up & slung you onto his shouldet before he proceeded to climb the ladder.

"Hey! Kit! Put me down right now!"

"Quiet down, you'll wake the neighbo's."

"Kit Walker! You put me down this instant!" suddenly, he picked you up, making you squeak, & set you down on the blanket he splayed earlier. You glared up at him as he moved to sit beside you.

He held out a small bushel of flowers to you, "For you, m'lady."

You crossed your arms, "Let me tell you exactly where you can shove those flowers & bullshit apologies---"

He laughed, "Sweethawt, please," he offered the flowers to you once more, "Let me make it up to ya?" you eyed the flowers, which were your favorite kind, before looking back at him.

You sighed & took the flowers, "Fine, but this better be good," he grinned & opened up the picnic basket. He pulled out package after package, bag after bag, of all your favorite junk foods. The entire picnic basket was full of nothing but chips & sweets, enough to last you a month. You looked up at him in surprise, "You got all this---did all this---just because I was mad at you?"

"Well yeah," he smiled, "I love you," you smiled at that, "And ya know what the say, 'happy wife, happy life'," he joked, making you roll your eyes.

"Well, I am happy," his smile widened, "I'm sorry for yelling at you about the milk & all. I was just cranky because the kiddos were a handful today---"

He cut you off, "You don't got to apologize, it's al'ight," he smiled, "And I've got the day off tomorra, so I can help with the kids."

You smiled widely, "I really love you, Kit."

He laughed softly, "I really love ya, too, Sweethawt, even when you're mad at me."

"Good," you pulled your husband close & gave him a sweet kiss. The remainder of the night was spent star-gazing, kissing, & enjoying the junk food Kit bought.
