@katieurbanjonas asks "What's it like being a paramedic?"

Johnny: You see a lot of things most people don't want to see. Sometimes it can and does get gruesome. I mean, you're the first to respond to a car accident, fire, or medical emergency. Of course, you can't let things like that cripple you. You're there to help the injured people. You have to put that aside and move on with the tasks at hand. And I said "tasks" because there are many.

Roy: *nods*

Johnny: You have to assess the situation with little to none information. You have to pay attention to little things that might develop into something serious. And sometimes you have to make tough decisions. For example, should you do things to a traditional way, or go against it when another option seems better? Here's another one. Should you tell someone that their loved one has died now, or wait till we get to the hospital?

Roy: Don't forget that there's a good part, too.

Johnny: I know, Roy. I was just about to mention it. I love to see the kids' faces as we drive by.

Chet: They look at the engine more than the squad, though. *smiles*

Johnny:  I know. Don't remind me, Chet.

Chet: *whispers* I'll be sitting on the left of Engine 51 by the way. *winks* *smiles*

Johnny: Anyways, I love the kids' reactions. It's just... magical when they come to the station. It sort of revives my motivation, because it reminds me why I love this job. And of course, I love it when the medical procedures actually work and we save a life. That's what this job is all about. Right?
