Mike: Well, that's cool! *smiles* I'll warn you though. There is some math involved when you control the water pressure. You can always learn that though. Anyways, I've always liked being high while driving the engine. In a way, driving gives me some control of how fast we get to the emergency scene. But like anything else, there's some responsibility that comes along with it. The engine is a powerful vehicle and you have to remember that. I also like controlling the water pressure for the rest of the guys. It often reminds me that we're all in this together as a team, helping other people who need our help. That's probably my favorite part of the job.
Chet: Mike! I've never heard you talk that much to anyone else! Are you feeling alright?
Mike: *chuckles* I'm fine, Chet.
Chet: Johnny! Roy! We need to get a BP!
Mike: *walks away*
Chet: No. Really. I'm serious.
Mike: *still walks away in silence*
Chet: No, maybe you're okay. Nevermind medics! He's good.
Johnny: You've never heard him talk to anyone that much? Really? Well, maybe he just doesn't like you, Chet.
Chet: He doesn't talk to you any more than me.
Johnny: That you've seen, Chet. That you've seen. *mumbles* Let that sink in.
Chet: *laughs* Yeah, I'm sure, Johnny.
