Chapter Thirteen

3rd person

Everyone stood at shock in the sight in front of them. Mercy knew who did this. She could tell by the aura that was given off.

After about twenty minutes, everyone had managed to get her down from where she was hanging. Evan was the first to act, his hands gingerly went to her neck and checked for a pulse.

There but faint.

Evan then proceeded to check her other vitals, which seemed to be okay.

Calum stood there in the background tears trickling down his face.

"Guys get back." Mercy spoke pulling her blades out and everyone dived behind her. There was an almost deafening silence for a while until a low growl came from Alyx. Her back arched slightly as her nails seemed to sharpen into slight claws before retracting.

Her body laid peacefully for a matter of seconds before Alyx's eyes opened slowly. She stood up the dress flowing around her as the air seemed to get colder and a strong breeze came in. Her hair blew around her and her eyes seemed to focus on something in the distance.

"Alyx...?" Mercy asked. Alyx's eyes snapped towards the group of people stood there. She stood in silence before speaking.

"Alyx isn't here anymore." The voice spoke smoothly. "Well, I am. But not how you remember me."

"What have you done to our Alyx?" Mercy asked.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Alyx smirked and walked over to the group. Her eyes seemed to be drowning in the black pigment. "Well aren't you a tasty one." Alyx stopped in front of Calum. Her eyes flitting over his body.

Calum didn't know what to do or say, so he kept silent. That didn't work because when his eyes looked over her shoulder into the distance her now seemingly more slender fingers tilted his face to look directly at her. He inhaled sharply.

"I see why Alyx likes you" She laughed quietly. "Although I might play with you a bit myself. As for this beautiful young one behind you...."

Luna stood there her eyes widened. But as Alyx went to reach for her she let out a guttural sound and bared her teeth.

"Feisty. You'll make the perfect little toy."

"Step away from her." Luke stepped up and his eyes went bright red. No one talked about his mate like that.

"Or what pretty boy?" She taunted. Her black eyes shining mischievously. He growled baring his fangs. She flitted around him and grabbed Luna's arm.

"It seems like everyone here is very protective about you the most, have you ever wondered why that is?" Alyx cooed into Luna's ear. "They're leaving your brother to fend for himself."

"Get off me." Luna warned.

"What are you going to do?" A smirk tugged on her lips. Luna's body started changing into a wolf and when all four paws touched the floor, they were almost instantly back off it as she threw herself at Alyx's throat.

With one quick movement of her arm, Alyx had merely tossed Luna to the side using little strength.

"You should catch your opponent off guard, silly." Alyx laughed bitterly. Until she could feel the air being ripped from her throat.

Her hands flew to her neck as she crumpled to her knees.

"Who's doing this?" Calum called out. No one owned up to it. His eyes widened when Alyx went limp but rose almost instantly. Stood back on her feet she had ran from where she just collapsed to where Luna's injured wolf form was laying. She skidded to a stop and held her hands above her daughter.

"I'm sorry." She whispered repeatedly. That's when Luna's eyes opened and Alyx crumpled to the floor for a second time. Luna changed to her human form before shaking her mother lightly.

"Mum?" She let out a whimper. Everyone watching the scene unfold in front of their eyes. "She was her for that brief second. She used her energy to save me..."

Ruben walked over and rested his hand on Alyx's forehead. He took a deep breath before healing her halfway so he didn't become in the state his mum was in.

"I see you found my present. She's strong. No one had ever overcame their demons before." Eric chuckled stood in the tree. "Not even hybrids like her who weren't born a demon. She's really something special."
