She watched as Calum walked into the pub, another night to drink, to help ease the pain of her not being there. She played with her hair nervously. It had been two years since then and she hadn't completely healed until yesterday.
"Calum, you're here again?" The bartender, the female bar tender, spoke with him. He nodded. "The usual?"
Her heart broke hearing those words, her only thought that he had came here so often that he had 'the usual'?

Alyx
Calum walked the long way home from the pub, his eyes glistening with tears as he stopped at the roadside. I followed behind him in the shadows, I couldn't calm my nerves after seeing him so long. My insides ached to re-connect as mates.
"She should've been healed by now." Calum croaked. "There's no point in living without her."
"Don't speak like that." My voice broke the silence, I froze at the sound of it, I wasn't meant to come and introduce myself now. Calum froze.
Footsteps were heard as nothing passed on the empty street and my arms found their way around Calum. My body fitting perfectly with his as we embraced. "I'm sorry it took so long, but I'm here now..."
"Alyx you're here." Calum croaked and pulled me in as close as he could get me.
"I missed you." We spoke at the same time, both of them with tears in their eyes.

Calum called up our children the next day, despite them now living halfway across the country.
Had it really been that long that they had grown up to that stage where they can live by themselves?
"Yes, I found something you may like..." He spoke locking eyes with me, I grinned. "No, I cannot bring it to you... Yes you can bring Luke." He hesitated. "Yes, I'll see you soon. Bye."
A few hours later and Ruben, Luna and Luke appeared at the door.
"What is it you dragged us back here for?" Ruben huffed pushing his messy hair out of his eyes, my heart raced in my chest... I hadn't seen them in so long. I took a deep breath and peeped out from behind Calum and gave the children one of my warmest grins I could muster.
"I... We thought you were dead, as in... dead for good." Luna teared up. Both children threw themselves at me and I smiled tears forming in my own eyes as I wrapped them in a hug.
We all sat down around the dinner table later on that evening before Luna cleared her throat.
"I have something important to announce." Luna smiled, nervousness rolling from her words. "Luke and I are getting married."
Everyone fell into silence. Calum looked at me who had already flew out my seat, sprinted around the table and embraced my daughter. My legs slightly wobbly due to the vampire speed I had acquired.
"You're growing up so fat, but I swear Luke... If you break my daughters heart, I'll end you." I seethed, looking towards Luke. His eyes widened and he nodded.
"Isn't that my job? To scare the boy?" Calum chuckled walking to stand beside them all.
"He's known you too long, you don't scare him." Ruben chuckled. "Congratulations."
I smiled brightly between everyone, maybe this time... Maybe this time we could have our happily ever after?
