Chapter 12

"Look, I'm sorry about me attacking you. I didn't mean to and I'll leave as soon as I've rescued my friend. I promise, but before I do leave, can you help me find her?" The intruder held out his hand and expected me to take it.

"What's your name, intruder?" I asked.

"My name is Ichigo Kurosaki. Substitute Soul Reaper." He said it like it was his profession.

"Well then, substitute Soul Reaper." I lifted my hand and prepared my cero. "Nice knowing you, Ichigo Kurosaki." A bright golden light shot from my hand and straight towards the Soul Reaper.

"Santen Kesshun. I reject." All of a sudden, my cero was blocked.

"Who the hell was that?!" I yelled.

"Orihime!" I heard Ichigo yell towards a girl who was staring up at him.

"Ichigo!" He then flash stepped over to her and they hugged. The look in her eyes said everything. She was in love with him. I put my arm down after realizing that she loved him. I bowed my head and walked back over to Grimmjow, who was still standing in the doorway.

"And where do you think you're going?" He asked me.

"I can't fight him." I said quietly.

"Why not?" He started to get angry with me.

"Because of the look in her eye. She'd be devastated even if he just got hurt." I said.

"What's so wrong with the look in her eye?" He seemed confused.

"It's the same look I have when I look at Ulquiorra. She loves him. I can't take that away from her. I know what it feels like to lose someone you love and it's like you've been killed and brought back to life all over again. It's horrible. I don't want anyone to feel the same way that I've felt." I looked at him with sad eyes.

"Ichigo!" I turned to see Ichigo fighting someone, and that someone was Ulquiorra...

"Why is he fighting him?!" I asked Grimmjow.

"Because he's following orders, like you should have done so I'll give you a new order. Fight his friend Rukia Kuchiki. She should be here soon." He turned and walked away.

"Who is she?" I asked.

"She's another soul reaper and she's the only other girl who's there. From what I've heard, she has the most beautiful zanpakto in the entire soul society. Hmm. Anyway, good luck, newbie." Grimmjow kept on walking and waved over to me.

"Hmm. Rukia Kuchiki.. Let's have some fun." I turned around and saw other people coming towards us. I flash stepped over to the top of a sand dune to get a better look and they all stopped around me.

"I'm guessing you're the rest of the intruders." I said while putting my hands in my pockets and looking around.

"And I'm guessing you're an Espada." The girl spoke. "You guys go ahead, I'll take her on." All of her friends left so I was stood with her.

"Nice to finally meet you, Rukia Kuchiki." I smirked at her.

"How do you know my name?" She asked.

"That's none of your business." I said.

"Huh. I guess it doesn't matter." She unsheathed her zanpakto. "You're going to die soon anyway."

"You're wrong there." I said.

"And what makes you so sure?" She had a smug look on her face.

"My heart knows best. That's all." I said.
