Chapter 25

"Here." Renji handed me a mobile phone. "The captain is on the phone."

"Thank you Renji." I smiled at him before taking the phone off him. "Father?"

"No. I'm Captain Ukitake. It's a pleasure to be able to talk to Shunsui's daughter. He's told me much about you." The voice ringing in my ears sounded kind. Nothing that I expected from a captain.

"Oh. Sorry Captain Ukitake."

"Why say sorry? It's alright that you thought it was Shunsui was here instead of me. I'm actually here to talk to you about him." He responded.

"What's happened to him? Is he alright? Did he get hurt on a mission or something?" I got so worried that I just asked question after question.

"Nothing has happened to him. He's fine. It's just that Captain Yamamoto has given the order that he isn't allowed to come to the world of the living to see you. After hearing this, he couldn't tell you himself. He didn't want to hurt you anymore than he already has. He said it would break his heart if he upset you again. He's truely sorry that he can't make it to see you but it's only because of Captian Yamamoto's orders." He wasn't happy when he spoke to me.

"Who's Captain Yamamoto?" I asked.

"He's the head Captain of The Thirteen Court Gaurd Squad. He gives the orders and we all have to follow them." He explained.

"Go get him." I was serious about this.

"What?! You won't be able to change his mind! No one has ever been able to do this so I doubt you'll be able to do it too." He was so shocked.

"I'm sorry to be so rude, Captain. But go get him, now." I tried to not yell down the phone as he sighed.

"Fine but don't say I didn't warn you. I'll phone you back in a few minutes." He said.

"Thank you, Captain Ukitake." The call then ended and I went back to the room we were first staying in at Urahara's shop. A few minutes past and the phone rang again. I picked it up straight away.

"Hello." I said.

"Hello. I am Captain Yamamoto. You wanted to speak to me.." His voice was so deep that it brung chills down my spine.

"Yes. I'm sorry to take time out of your schedual but I just wanted to talk to you about Captain Kyōraku." I stated.

"My mind is made up. He is not going to the world of the living. This is my final verdict." His voice boomed down the phone.

"I know. Captain Ukitake told me that I won't be able to change your mind. I just want to ask you something." I said.

"Hmm. Continue." He said a bit quieter.

"Why won't you allow him to come to the world of the living? We just wanted to spend time together. He is my father, after all, and I haven't seen him in my entire life except the time that I was in the soul society." I knew it was risky to talk to him but I had to.

"Because it wouldn't be right if his widowed wife saw him again. He died and came to the soul society. He has started a new life here so he can't go back to his old one. It's the past. I understand why you are upset but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm sorry." He actually understood my point of view.

"Okay then. Thank you for telling me, Captain Yamamoto. I apologise for disturbing you." I was so upset but I knew there was nothing I could do about it.

"I have an idea though." He said before putting the phone down.

"Yes sir?" I was curious to what he had in his mind now.
