Chapter 5

Ulquiorra's p.o.v.

I can't believe that she would go so far to try to kill herself. She's beautiful, kind, sweet, caring.. Why would someone do something like that to her? It's just horrible. All I could do was to just be with her. That's all I wanted to do too. I just wanted to be with her. To feel her next to me... Why am I thinking like this?! Towards a human too.. If Grimmjow were to see me like this, I'd never hear the end of it... It's a good thing that only I know the password to getting into this room. I looked down and I watched her drifting off to sleep. She looked so cute when she slept...

Why do I keep thinking like this?! It's wrong! What is this feeling anyway?

I saw a piece of her hair fall from her head onto her face. It spoiled my view. Gently, I moved the hair away from her face and behind her ear. I gasped as she moved closer to me. Our bodies we practically fully touching as she cuddled up against me.

What should I do?

I moved my arms around her more and I could feel her head moving to look up towards me. She opened her eyes and tiredly looked straight at me.

"Hey." She smiled at me and started to rub her eyes.

"Hey. Did you have a nice sleep?" I asked.

"Yeah. How long was I asleep for? And how come you're still here?" She just asked question after question.

"Well, it's morning now so quite a while and I just... wanted to stay here... I told you that I would protect you so that's what I've done. I stayed here by your side all night long. I hope that's okay?" I just wanted to make sure that it was good for me to stay with her or if it was a bit weird for her.

"That's fine. I'm glad you stayed." She started to blush. She was even more cute when she smiled and blushed at the same time.

"That's good then. I'm glad that I stayed too." I gave her a little smile.

"Did you get any sleep?" She had to ask...

"I don't sleep." I responded.

"What? Why not?"

"I don't sleep because I get too worried when I sleep. I always end up waking up with my body sweating and shaking. I don't like it. It feels like I'm having a fit." I placed my hand on her hair, picked up a clump and then started to twirl it in my fingers. Her hair was so soft, it felt just like silk.

"Oh.. Why does that happen?"

"I'm not too sure myself." I was so entertained by twirling her hair that I didn't even realize that she placed her hand on my face until about thirty seconds after she had done it. I gasped and looked down at her.

"Amber? Are.. you alright?" I was confused to why she had her hand on my face but I liked having her there. I liked having the contact on my skin, the warmth of her hand over my cold skin.

"I... I'm just worried about you.."

"You're worried... about me?... But why?" I asked.

"I... I just..." She was stopped as there was a knock at the wall.

"I'll go see who it is." I sat up and walked over to the wall. I opened the door and Lord Aizen was standing in the gap of the door.

"Lord Aizen.." I stood out of the way and bowed.

He then walked in and walked over to the bed that Amber was sitting on. She stood up and bowed in front of Lord Aizen.

"Good morning, Amber."

"Good morning, Lord Aizen." She responded with no tone in her voice.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Good. You'll need all of your energy today." He started to walk over to me as he spoke to her.

"What for, my Lord?"

"Your training starts in an hour. Be ready by then." He walked by me and stood next to me. "Ulquiorra will be your trainer." He added.

"Yes, my lord." I bowed.

"Along with Grimmjow. You will both train her. You have two weeks to get her ready for battle. That's all the time I can give you." He then turned around to Amber to speak to her again. "If you can learn how to control your power by the end of the week, I'll allow you to see your family and friends once more."

"Thank you, Lord Aizen." Her face beamed with a smile. I could see in her eyes how happy she was. I turned to Lord Aizen and I saw him smiling at her. That was the first time I saw him smile like that before. Normally it was just a smirk or a fake smile but this time, it was genuine. He then turned back to me.

"One hour. Then take her into the second training room and start there. First, you'll need to control her spiritual pressure. Then, you can try to summon her mask. Good luck, Ulquiorra." He then walked out of the room and the door started to close.

"Thank you, my lord." I bowed once again.

The door finally closed and when I turned back to Amber, she was looking up towards the moon. I walked over to her and put my hand on her shoulder. She turned around and had the most kindest smile across her face.

"Oh, Ulquiorra. I can see my family and friends again. I'm so happy." She hugged me so tightly. I was so glad that I could spend this time with her and no one else. I hugged her back and placed my head against hers.

"I'm happy for you too." I said.

"Could you do one thing?" She looked up at me but kept her arms around me.

"Anything." I stroked her face and smiled at her.

"When we go, can you be the one to come with me?" She blushed at me. She looked so cute.

"Of course. I'd love to." She smiled at me and then hugged me again.

"Thank you, Ulquiorra." She whispered.

I was so happy. All I wanted to do was to hold her in my arms forever, but before that could happen, I needed to follow Lord Aizen's orders. For now.
