Chapter 29

"You've came to say goodbye?..." I heard Esther mumble. She then stood up and walked over to me. "You've been gone for weeks and we've all been worried sick about you... So you've came to say goodbye..." She started to get angry.

"I'm sorry. I truly am but, believe me, I've wanted to come back here for ages now. I've missed everyone a lot and I feel bad for leaving. If I could tell you what happened then you'd understand but I can't..." I started to cry even more now.

"How won't we understand?!" She yelled at me. "You haven't even explained yourself so how are you so sure that we won't understand?!"

"I'm sorry I'm late." I turned towards the entrance to the main hall and I saw Lord Aizen walk in.

"Lord Aizen!" I was shocked but I quickly bowed.

"So these are your friends you were on about?" He asked as he put his hand on my chin and raised my head.

"Yes, my lord." I said while straightening up.

"Care to introduce them?" He turned towards them.

"Of course." I turned and looked at everyone who seemed tense. "Well, firstly, the girl in front of us is Esther. I'll go from left to right. There's Charlotte, Shannon, Bethany, Amy, Jade and Leah."

"And who's the boy?" He asked with disapproval written all over his face.

"That's Fabian." I was worried now.

"Hmm. Well, it's a pleasure to meet all of you." He smiled at them. I looked at Esther and she seemed to be blushing a little bit. "Now, I must ask you something. Esther, was it?" He turned to Esther who just nodded at him. "Can you tell me why you were yelling at my dear Amber?" He asked her. She just bowed her head before speaking.

"I'm sorry... I'm just upset... We're all upset." She raised her head with tears running down her face.

"Hmm. I see." Aizen then looked at everyone else who didn't say a word. "Well, would you all like to know the reason for her being away for so long?" He asked them all. They just nodded their heads in response. "Alright then. I can't tell you right now but we can tell you later. After school, we can all meet somewhere where we can talk. Is there anywhere close that we could all speak at?" He asked me.

"Well, we could meet at the pitty I suppose..." I said. "But why can't we just explain now?" I asked.

"I'm running late for a meeting and I need to return my gigai to Urahara's shop too. The same goes to you too, Amber. You'll all need to return the gigai's before 11pm. That's when the rent runs out." He laughed.

"Of course, my lord." I smiled at him and then looked at everyone else. "Are you guys alright?" I asked them. The first to speak was Fabian, after he walked over to me.

"I'm not too sure about everyone else but I don't care about what happened to you. I'm just glad you're back." He put his hand on my cheek and smiled at me.

"Ulquiorra, Grimmjow. Let's go." He turned and walked towards the door. "Amber, spend the day with your friends and family. Return to Urahara's shop when you're done and from there, we'll return home. I hope you have a pleasant time here." He then kept on walking.

"Thank you, Lord Aizen." I smiled and bowed.

"Oh. Before I forget. I'd like to meet your mother before we leave. When will you be going to see her again?" He asked as he turned towards me.

"After we talk to my friends. I assume that I'll go see her after that." I said.

"Hmm. Alright. I'll be at this place you call the pitty at 3 o'clock. If anyone is late then it's their loss. It was nice to meet all of you. Goodbye." He turned back towards the door.

"Goodbye, Lord Aizen." I bowed again.

Ulquiorra's p.o.v.

We left the school but Amber stayed behind.

"Are you sure it'll be alright to leave her there?" Grimmjow asked.

"Positive. She'll be fine. After all, this used to be her home." Aizen said.

"What are we to do now, Lord Aizen?" I asked.

"Well, we have a meeting to go to so we'll return the gigais to Urahara and then go back to Hueco Mundo. After the meeting, we'll come back to meet Amber. Grimmjow, go ahead. I need to speak to Ulquiorra." Aizen turned to us and Grimmjow walked ahead.

"My lord..." I looked at him as he turned to me.

"I know your feelings for Amber so I can tell that you weren't happy when that boy, Fabian, seemed so friendly with her. Being honest, I wasn't either but there's nothing we can do about it. They're humans, we aren't so we have to leave it be. However, I didn't want to talk about him. I want to talk about Amber. I'd like to know exactly how you feel about her." He smirked.

"Why would you like to know that, my lord?" I asked, trying to avoid the question.

"Curiosity. That's all. It's obvious that you have some sort of feelings for her but what exactly do you feel for her? Do you see her like a little sister or perhaps you feel for her more?" He just asked question after question. I knew that I'd have to answer him...

"I love her..." I looked away from him as I spoke.

"I thought so." He then put his hand on my head and ruffled my hair. I looked up and he was smiling at me. "It's good that you're getting feelings for others now, Ulquiorra. However, make sure you don't end up hurting yourself in the process." He took his hand off my head and put it in his pocket.

"Yes. I know." We then kept on walking until we ended up at Urahara's shop. We walked in and Grimmjow had already gotten out of his gigai.

"Took your time." He smirked.

"Be patient, Grimmjow." Aizen then passed him and went into the shop. I got out of my gigai and pulled it into the back of the shop. I put it by Grimmjow's and walked back out to see him looking at me.

"So, what happened?" He asked me.

"That's non of your business, Grimmjow." I snarled.

"Fine then." He snapped.

"Alright then. Let's go." Aizen walked over to us and headed for the front of the store. We followed him outside the store and came to a halt. "Ulquiorra, open a garganta please." He said.

"Of course." I then opened a garganta and we all stepped inside. We went back to Los Noches and as we walked into the throne room, all of the Espada were waiting for us.

"Sorry we're late. We've been busy." Lord Aizen said to everyone as we sat down. I looked around and realized that Aaroniero Arruruerie, who is the 9th Espada, wasn't here.

"Excuse me, my lord." Starrk said. "Where is Aaroniero?" He asked.

"That's why I've called you here today. He died by the hand of Rukia Kuchiki so now, we have a place for Amber. However, we need to make some changes to your ranking, unfortunately. I've seen the power of her cero and, I have to say, it's quite impressive. I've also seen her resurrección, which is also quite impressive. I've been thinking for a while now and I've decided her rank. She will be 5th, for now. When she returns, we will all meet again and everything will be changed from the current 5th ranking down. I will call you again but for now, we are finished. Ulquiorra, Grimmjow, come with me." He stood up and we followed him as he left the throne room.
