Chapter 20

I walked out of my room and closed the door behind me. I then looked down the corridor and no one was coming so, me being me, I decided to talk to myself on the way to the training room.

"So that was my dark side.. I wonder if that's what she had planed.. Was she showing me her plans or maybe she was showing me someone else's plan..." I muttered to myself.

"And who's this girl you're on about?" I turned to see Starrk walking towards me.

"Starrk! I didn't see you there..." I said.

"But I was walking straight towards you..." He muttered.

"I know but I was in my own little world." I laughed.

"Yeah. I could tell. Now who's this girl you're on about?" He asked again.

"Oh. It's nothing. I was just day-dreaming. I've got to get going now. Ulquiorra and Grimmjow must be waiting for me." I then started to jog a little. "See you later, Starrk!" I waved back at him before heading into the training room.

"Sorry I'm late." I said to Ulquiorra and Grimmjow who didn't look happy to see me. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nice of you to show up." Grimmjow said sarcastically.

"I was talking to Starrk. That's all."

"Stop bickering and lets get back to work." Ulquiorra snapped at us.

"Yeah. You're right." I responded. "Where do we start today then?" I asked.

"Look, I know that this is going to sound a bit weird to you but when you were talking about Lord Aizen's plan and that you saw it in his eyes, well, we have come to the conclusion that you can-" Ulquiorra tried to put it plain and simple but I knew what it was anyway.

"That I can see into people. Yeah, I know that already. Everything that's been really weird with me lately has been explained to me so it's fine. The only thing that hasn't been explained to me is how to use my powers properly." I said while looking for my zanpakto.

"Wait a minute... You know?" Grimmjow blurted out before Ulquiorra could say anything.

"Ah! There you are." I was behind a boulder and when I came back around, both of them were looking really confused at me. "What?" I asked.

"How do you know?" Ulquiorra asked.

"Oh. My zanpakto explained it to me. He explained everything to me. The reason behind my dream I had, why I was crying blood, my powers and even the reason behind that fit I had the other night. He explained it all. So, the next time something happens like that, I'll just ask him." I said while holding the hilt of my zanpakto.

"Your zanpakto told you... Interesting... Where is he now?" Ulquiorra asked.

"He left before. He also said that once I am able to harness my powers, he's going to tell me his name." I said while sitting on a rock.

"Oh. Good." Grimmjow seemed relieved.

"How is that good?" I asked him.

"That's what we were going to do first. We planned today out but you've covered yourself on the explanation so that's one part over and you already know the next step so let's get going." He stood up and put his hands in his pockets.

"And how do we do that?" I asked.

"Like this." Ulquiorra then flashed over to me with his hand ready to hit me. I quickly dodged like I knew he was going to do that.

"Whoa! Be a bit more careful, Ulquiorra." Grimmjow seemed concerned.

"You know I can't do that." Ulquiorra then unsheathed his zanpakto. I closed my eyes before speaking and I could tell that something changed inside myself.

"So we're going to fight, huh? Alright then." I turned to him, unsheathed my sword and opened my eyes. Ulquiorra then made the first move. I could see everything that he was going to do. As he flashed towards me again, I lifted my sword with one hand and put my other one in my pocket. He also did the same but as soon as our swords clashed, I looked into his eyes and smirked at how shocked he was. Then I saw his plans change as he flashed away from me and he still looked shocked.

"Ulquiorra. What's wrong?" Grimmjow asked.

"Her eyes..." He muttered.

"My eyes?" I pulled my hand out of my pocket and put my hand over my left eye. "What's wrong with them?" I then pulled my sword up to my face so I could see the reflection of my face. I looked at my eyes and they weren't the same... The iris of my eye had turned white as snow and the sclera had turned black as coal. I then lowered my zanpakto as Grimmjow walked over to me and grabbed my face. He turned my head so he could see my eyes and he was as shocked as Ulquiorra was. I then saw something glowing. It was my zanpakto and I wasn't the only one who noticed it. Grimmjow and Ulquiorra were both looking at it too. Then, there was a beam of the same light that shone over to a boulder and it materialized into the soul of my zanpakto.

"Well that was quicker than I expected. You gathered up enough courage to call your power quite well. That's good." He then started to walk over to me.

"You're back... But why?" I asked.

"I said that I would tell you my name once you could harness your powers, which you've done already." He said as he sat down next to me. "But first, tell me the name of your two friends. Start with the blue haired one who looks astonished to see me." I giggled a bit at his comment.

"That's Grimmjow." I responded.

"And the other?" He asked.

"Ulquiorra." I said as I looked over to them.

"Ah. It's good to finally meet you properly boys." He then stood up and walked over to them.

"So the soul of your zanpakto is a lion?..." Grimmjow stated.

"I'm no ordinary lion, thank you very much captain obvious." I laughed as he circled Grimmjow and Ulquiorra.

"He's a Barbary lion. His breed is brave, fearless, mighty and has a lot of courage. They are magnificent compared to any other breed of cat." I said as I sat on a boulder.

"And yet you have the same beauty as a mountain lion. I'd give anything to look that way." He laughed as he walked towards me.

"I know." He then sat beside me and I started to stroke his mane. "You came here for a reason."

"Indeed I did. My name." He then whispered into my ear his name. "Got it?"

"Yeah. Thank you." I smiled.

"I'll see you again soon, Amber." He then turned to Ulquiorra and Grimmjow. "Take care of her and train her well." He bowed and went back into the zanpakto.

"Amber, what did he tell you?" Ulquiorra asked.

"I think it's better if I show you instead." I grabbed my zanpakto by the hilt with both hands and looked dead ahead.

"What are you doing?" Grimmjow asked as I faced towards them.

"Roar Maliki!" I yelled out the name of my zanpakto and as I did, I looked at it and it shone red. All of a sudden, the zanpakto disappeared and the light surrounded me. I was transforming.
