Chapter 31

Ulquiorra's p.o.v.

Amber left me sitting with this guy. I didn't even know who he was so I didn't say anything unless he decided to speak, which wasn't long.

"You know she lied, right?" He asked me.

"Yeah. I know. I've always known when she lies. It's written all over her face." I smirked.

"That's true." He then leant his arm against the table and rested his head against his hand. "Then again, you can always tell when she's telling the truth too. It's all in her eyes. You look into them and it's like you've been sucked into a black hole that's filled with hurt and misery but right at the very end of it is her heart. She's always been a softie but she's always been genuine too." He smiled when thinking about her. "That's what I've always loved about her. She's always been genuine and I was too late to see it so now I can't do anything about it because I've messed it up." He then sat up straight.

"You're right." I said quietly.

"I know that we don't know each other very well but can you do me one thing?" He asked.

"Sure." I responded.

"Treat her right and treat her better than I did." He didn't look happy when he said that.

"Trust me when I say this, I'm not a human anymore and I haven't been one for quite a while. I've just recently recovered some feelings that a human would experiance and that's thanks to Amber. I'm actually really grateful to her for that but I'm still a monster. I always have been and I always will be so I won't be able to treat her like anyone else could do so keep that in mind." I said seriously.

"Okay then, just treat her right then and if she cries, just hug her and comfort her. I should have realized sooner that I should have been there for her more." He looked really sad now.

"Thanks for the advice." I said.

"I guess I'll just go now. I'll see you at the pitty." He stood up. "Tell Amber I said I'll just see her there." He then walked away and, not long after, Amber came out of the toilets.

"Hey. Where did Fabian go?" She asked me as she stood by the table.

"He left. What's wrong? It looks like you've been crying." I said.

"I'm fine now." She sat down beside me and I put my arm over her shoulders.

"Are you sure you're alright?" I asked her.

"Yeah." She said as she rested her head against my shoulder.

"That's good." I smiled at her and rested my head against hers. "Oh, Fabian told me that he'll just see you at the pitty."

"Oh. Alright. That's just like him..." She sighed.

"What do you mean?" I asked as she sat up.

"He's always been like that. Just leaving and telling me he'll 'see me later' or whatever. He just gets up and leaves, even if he says goodbye, he just leaves without another word. We could never hold a convocation for a while either, then again, it was never his fault, it was always mine. I never could really think about something to say to him. How foolish I was..." She closed her eyes.

"Well, by the sound of it, it doesn't seem like you and him were close friends." I sighed.

"That's not true. We were really good friends..." She opened her eyes and sighed.

"Look, I know you and him weren't just friends so you don't have to lie to me, ok?" I turned to her and she was shocked at what I said so I smiled to her. I didn't want her to be upset.

"I-I'm sorry.." She looked down so I couldn't see her face.

"What for?" I asked her.

"For lying to you. I didn't want things to be even more awkward than it already was, that's all." She murmered.

"It's alright." I hugged her and she hugged me back. "Next time, just tell me the truth, ok?"

"Yeah. I will. Thank you, Ulquiorra." We pulled away from each other and she smiled at me so I smiled back.

"I know this is completely off topic but who's he?" I asked.

"Huh?" She seemed confused so she turned around and looked at the man. She gasped and stood up. "Uryu!" She hugged him. He seemed shocked but he happily hugged her back.

"It's good to see you again, Amber." He smiled.

"Yeah. It's good to see you too." She replied. "Oh, Uryu. This is Ulquiorra, Ulquiorra this Uryu." She turned to me and smiled.

"Oh yes. Now I remember you. You're that quincy who saved Amber." I smirked and turned.

"Hmm. Yes. I'm Uryu Ishida and I am, indeed, a quincy and you're an arrancar so you're my enemy." I looked up at him and he looked angry.

"Uryu, stop it. We're not here on a mission so there's no need to fight us." She turned to him and looked straight at him.

"If you're not on a mission then why are you here?" He asked her.

"I'm here to visit my family and friends. Lord Aizen has allowed me to come to the world of the living so I can see them one more time before going back to Los Noches." She smiled. "Speaking of which, why are you here? You're not a student here, are you?" She asked him.

"No. I'm not. My mother works here so I've came to pay her a visit. I don't get to see her much but I've been allowed to come and see her today. That's all." He smiled back at her.

"Oh. Where does she work?" She asked him.

"She works as a Math teacher but she's having her lunch right now so I've been told to wait around here. Do you mind if I sit with you?" He asked her.

"Sure but we aren't going to be here for long. The bell is going to go soon which means some people will be going to tutor so that's where we'll be going too." She said while sitting down.

"Oh. Alright." He sat down across from us. "How come you've been allowed to wander around the school?" He asked.

"We've told the school that we're just visiting and since I'm a student, we've been allowed to go to lessons and stuff." She smiled as the bell went.

"I guess we have to go now." I stated.

"Yeah." She then turned back to Uryu. "I guess we'll see you another time. See you later, Uryu. It was nice seeing you again." She smiled at him and stood up.

"Yeah. It was good to see you too." He smiled at her and waved as we walked off.

"So, where are we going?" I asked her.

"My tutor is in the English corridor so we're going there." She smiled as we walked down a corridor and she knocked on the door.

"Come in." A voice murmered from inside the class room.

"Hi, sir." She spoke cautiously.

"Amber?!" He was just as shocked as her music teacher.

"Please sir, we're just visiting today and my friends know that too so please calm down." She laughed a little bit as we walked towards him. After that, no one else seemed that shocked to see her as we just stayed in her tutor until the final bell. Next, we had to go to the pitty and explain to them all what happened, just like Lord Aizen said..
