We were getting closer and closer to my house. As soon as we turned the corner of my street, I could see my house. I was getting more and more excited with every step.
"This is my house." I smiled at Ulquiorra.
"Hmm. Shall we go knock then?" He asked.
"Yeah." We walked towards the front door and I knocked on it. After a minute, someone came to the door and I could hear them unlocking it.
"Hello?" It was my mum at the door.
"Mum.. I'm home.." I gave her a slight smile.
"Amber?!" She was really shocked that it was me. She stepped out of the door way and put her hands on my shoulders. "Amber, is it really you?!" She asked.
"Yes mum. It's really me." I said with tears in my eyes.
"Thank God you're home..." She hugged me really tightly. "I was so worried... Where did you go?" She asked as she moved her body so she could look at my face but still keeping her arms around me.
"Lets go inside and we'll explain what happened." I said while moving towards the door of the house.
"We?" She seemed confused. I guess she didn't realize that Ulquiorra was with me.
"Mum, this is Ulquiorra. We're going to explain everything soon. Lets go inside now." I said while leading my mum back into the house.
"What's going on?" She asked me.
"I'll tell you soon. Do you want a cup of tea, mum?" I asked her.
"Oh. Yes please." She smiled at me as she sat down on the couch.
"I'll be back in a minute." I walked into the kitchen and switched the kettle on. "Do you want some tea or coffee, Ulquiorra?" I turned to see him leaning against the door way.
"No thanks." He then walked towards me.
"How are we going to explain this to her then?" I asked him while making the tea for my mum.
"We can either tell her the truth or make up a lie. Your choice." He said while putting his arms around me.
"I don't want to lie to her but if we did tell her the truth, she could be shocked. Then again, she doesn't have the biggest imagination so she may not believe us. I'm not too sure, now that I think about it.." I rested my arms against his. "What do you think? Would it be best to tell her the truth or not?" I asked him.
"You want my honest opinion?" He asked.
"Yes."
"Don't tell her. It would be better for her." He said.
"What should we tell her then?" I asked while getting some milk out of the fridge.
"I'm not sure but don't go too into it though. We want to make it believeable." He said.
"I have an idea but you'll have to go with me on this one, ok?" I said while picking up the cup of tea and walking towards the door.
"Alright." He said as he followed me. We walked into the living room and my mum was still sitting on the couch. She looked at me and smiled.
"Thanks." She watched me as I put the cup on the table next to her.
"How are you feeling?" I asked as I sat down.
"I'm better, now that I know you're safe." She smiled at me.
"Where's Mark?" I asked.
"He's at work and your sister is at school. It is Friday after all." She laughed a bit. "Can you tell me what happened to you now?" She asked.
"Well, from what I remember, I was walking home from school and I had my head phones in. I then felt a really big pain in my head but I must have passed out after that. When I woke up, I didn't know where I was but when I looked around, I saw Ulquiorra. He explained to me that he was in a car when he saw me get hit over the head by someone and they kidnapped me. He followed them to some sort of warehouse and from that point, he had called the police who saved me. I was taken to a hospital for treatment and Ulquiorra took me to his home so I could rest. I've been with him ever since but something else has happened. We've been asked to become part of a team to track these people down who kidnapped me. Apparently they're part of some orginisation who've been testing some drug that is starting to spread across England. We've been helping them so that's why I haven't been home. I'm sorry for not telling you sooner.." I said in disapointment so she would believe me.
"Oh, Amber... That's terrible..." She hugged me and I could hear her crying.
I can't believe she believed me...
"The people who I've been working with has allowed me to come home to see my family and friends so I could tell them that I'm alright. However, I have to go back and I'm not too sure when I'll see you again." I said while holding onto her.
"It's ok. As long as I know you're safe then that's fine with me." She then moved away and grabbed the cup of tea. "Are you going to visit your friends now? I'm sure they're worried sick about you." She smiled at me.
"Yeah. We're going up to school in a few minutes so I'm going to spend time there until the end of the day. When school is finished, I'll come straight back and we can stay until midnight but we have to be going back after that." I smiled back at her.
"That's good then. Your father and sister are worried just as much as I have been. They'll be happy when they see you're alright. Now get yourself away. You must be missing your friends. Do you want me to call up the school to let them know you're on your way with your friend?" She asked as she put the cup back down.
"Yes please. Thanks mum." We then stood up and went to the door. "We'll be back soon." I smiled at her before leaving for school.
"Goodbye. Take care of her, Ulquiorra." She smiled at him.
"I will." He tried to smile at her but it was no good. We then left and started to walk to my school. It wasn't a long journey, which was good. I was looking forward to seeing my friends again.
"That went better than I expected." I smiled at Ulquiorra.
"You're right but what are you going to tell your friends?" He asked.
"I can't exactly tell them the truth either but they're just going to have to trust me when I tell them that everything is going to be okay." I took hold of Ulquiorra's hand as we continued to walk to my school. "I hope this will go well. I just don't want my teachers complaining to me that I haven't been in school for so long. Let's hope my mum explains that I'm only there for a visit." I said while leaning my head against Ulquiorra's shoulder.
"It'll be fine." I felt his grip tighten on my hand like he was trying to hide his emotions or something.
"Yeah. You're probably right.." I gave him a slight smile.
