A Group Worth Salvaging

I've lost Riley. I've lost my friends. I've lost everything.

I get up and I don't even want to go to school today. Riley probably won't come, neither will Maya. I decide to actually go.

An hour later, I get a text from Maya. She's made a WhatsApp chat group. Named: We Need To Sort This Now.

"Hi guys. I've added all of us to this group. I know all of you won't turn up to school today. I don't think you should. But if you are, I would like to speak to you. Including you Lucas. This is a group worth salvaging." - Maya x"

Looks like Maya is making effort, I see that Zay has seen it. Where's he been in all this? I text back:

"I'm coming in today, Maya. We need to talk - Farkle"

"Yeah... - Maya"

I walk to school, feeling awful about everything. I have my first class... Drama. And Riley's not came in... I can see why she wouldn't.

Later on, I go to Cory's history class to meet up with Maya. I walk in and see her there.

"Hi." She said.

"Hi, Maya." I said, standing infront of her. "Can I start by saying sorry? Riley didn't mean anything she said..."

"I know. I forgive both of you."

"Really?"

"Yes, Farkle. I overreacted." Maya says as I hugged her and I started crying. Maya pulled out the hug. "What's the matter?"

"Me and Riley broke up because of all this arguing..."

"No! I didn't mean to-"

"It wasn't your fault." I said as she smiled.

"I'm going to help you get her back." She said.

"And I'm going to help you build your relationship back up with her." I said as Maya smiled. I looked around.

"Where is everyone else?" I asked as Maya put her head down.

"They haven't come in. We're the only ones." She said as I nodded. "Farkle... I need to tell you something..."

"What's up?" I said as Maya starts crying again.

"Lucas cheated on me-"

"What?" I said, I started to get angry. Maya was one of my best friends, I couldn't stand to see her like this.

"With Smackle." She said as I gasped.

"What! How-"

"She came to my house yesterday and said that Lucas forced her to sleep with him. 5 fucking times!" She said.

"She only just broke up with Zay!" I said.

"Exactly! And they are both underage! HAVING SEX!" Maya said, crying even more.

"Maya... You need to break up with Lucas." I said as she looked at me.
