I blink my eyes open and immediately screw them shut again as the light blinds me.

I open them again just a little. My eyelids feel heavy.

I lie down staring at the white ceiling for a couple of minutes, before I start to question myself of where I am.

My body feels a little numb as I try to move.

I turn my head to the side as I feel someone's presence.

My hands are wrapped into another pair of hands. I move my hand as much as I can.

It takes a second to recognize the person when he lifts his head to look at me.

"Chris" I try to call, but my voice is not audible.

"Yelle. You're awake. Oh my God!"

He leans forward and burries his face in my neck.

"I'm so happy you're awake. How are you feeling?"

"Water" I say, but he doesn't understand what I'm saying.

"Baby I don't understand you. I'll go get the doctor okay?"

I nod slowly and I try to sit up, which was a bad idea.

A cutting pain goes through my back and I screech my eyes shut because if the pain.

"I don't think you're ready to move baby. Just lie still and don't move. I'll go get the doctor"

I nod again and try to relax into the bed.

The bed is bigger than normal hospital beds. There's a beeping sound somewhere in the room and it's irritating me.

There's some sort of wire under my nose and I think it's to help me breath better.

I feel so weak and heavy.

A few minutes later Chris comes back being followed by a man in a white doctor suit.

"Hi there" he smiles
"I'm doctor Miles and you are?"

"Chaniëlle?" I say unsure of why he's asking me that. He should know.

"Looks like your voice isn't really doing it there. How do you feel?"

"Water" I repeat what I said to Chris earlier.

"Of course ma'am. I thought you might need that" Dr Miles says the second a nurse walks in. Pushing a cart with some stuff on it, including a glass of water.

I drink the water with help of the nurse who holds my head up.

"Now can we continue?" Dr Miles asks with a smile.

I nod and return his smile.

"How do you feel? Do feel have pain anywhere?"

"Weak, heavy, shitty, pain in my back and eyelids" I say using as less words as I possibly can.

"That might be normal seeing the fact that you've been in a coma for eight days" he says.

"What? Eight days? How?" I asks in shock.

"Don't worry about that right now. I will explain everything to you. Right now I'm going to do a few check ups on you and ask you a couple of simple questions. The check ups involve me touching around your stomach and checking your eyes and your throat. Is that okay with you?"

I nod trying to catch a memory that comes up, but it slips away leaving a little tang of pain in my brain.

"So that's it" Dr Miles smiles after he does his check up. "The nurse will be here with your food anytime soon. Your mother must be on her way here now. You have to eat and allow your body and brain to rest properly. I'll see you again this evening. Is there anything else you'd like to know or have?"

"Uum yeah. Can I have a two piece meal from McDonalds and a cheese burger and some fries? Oh and a coke" I ask knowing that there's no way I'm getting any of that.

Doctor Miles smiles, shaking his head while exiting the room.

A little shorter than usual, but yeah.

I just woke up and I can't sleep anymore, so yeah I decided to just crash on wattpad.... at 3:15 am😂
