A dream, a fantasy
Nothing more than what I can see
In my mind I dream
Hoping for something that would save me
From my lungs I scream
Clenched fists, bloodied wrists
Tears flowing and anger growing
I believe that my hopes fail
A happiness felt just barely
Punished quite unfairly
Oh tell me, what do you do
When your dreams consume you?
Telling me what I want
But remembering they are merely dreams
Never to come true
Only there in my sleep
Chasing something I can't keep
I close my eyes and I fall
My dream, my fantasy
It's what breaks me
Because for what I wish
Is to be happy, to be okay
For you
But fire grows with oxygen
So as long as I breathe
I may never leave.
