Chapter 16

Jace, I. I dont know what to say. I just look at him. What are my feelings for him? I did talk to Riley about them last night though.

*Flashback*

I went inside my room to see Riley sitting on my bed. I have to know all about it!! she squeals.

So, I put down my stuff and go sit next to her. Well, first we went out to dinner and we talked about a lot of stuff. My life before I came here. His home life. We talked about a lot, it was nice. Talking about stuff to someone that isnt as close to the whole situation. If that makes any sense. I tell her. Im not saying again, that I cant talk to you. Sometimes though, you need an outsiders view. I look at her. Worrying about her response.

Sweetie, I know. I aint got no hurt feelings over it. You need to do what you need to do. She tells me. So, did anything elllseee happen? she waggles her eyebrows at me. I start blushing.

Well, ummm.. we kind of madeoutonthebeach. I quickly say.

What was that? she asks me. Grinning like a maniac. She knows exactly what I said.

I said, we made out on the beach.

OMG!! You guys made out on the beach!? she squeals.

Shh, your mom is asleep. We cant be waking her up! I tell her.

Im sorry, its just so exciting. I mean, he is so gorgeous. And youre amazingly beautiful also! Youd make lovely babies!! Haha! she tells me.

RILEY! I cannot believe you just said that! I whisper yell at her.

Well, its true. She states. I cant help but start laughing at her. So how was it though? she asks me.

How was what? I ask her.

I mean how was the kiss? Was he a good kisser? she looks at me.

It was amazing Riley. I mean, Ive never kissed anyone. But if I were to guess, he would rank as a very good kisser. I smile, thinking back to the beach.

Girl, I think you got it bad. I look at her.

I guess I do. I sigh.

*Flashback Over*

Jace, I. he looks at me expectantly. I-I-II like you a lot also. I tell him. Looking down at the ground. Not knowing what else to say.

Haseya, I look up to see the biggest smile on his face. He comes towards me. You dont know how much this means to me. You reciprocating my feelings back. Its a relief. He comes over, puts his hands on either side of my face, and kisses me. Its not urgent, but its not slow either. Its perfect. Our lips move in sync with other. Just the way his tongue feels, fighting for dominance over mine. I have never felt anything like this before. It warms my insides, like Ive been cold all these years, and never realized it. His hands move down to my waist, while mine go around his neck. He tastes like peppermint and cinnamon. Its so intoxicating and Im loving it. After we finally pull away from each other. Wow. Thats all he could say. I couldnt help but start laughing.

Whats funny? he asks me, confusion on his face.

Is that all you can say? Wow? For some reason, its funny to me.

I guess so. He starts laughing also.

How about we head out. Get something to eat? he asks me.

That sounds great. And we head on out. I get into my truck and he gets on his bike.

Lets meet at the small diner we first went to. And he drives off.

As I pull up I see him leaning against his bike. Texting someone. As I start walking up to him he sees me and puts a big smile on his face. He holds out his hand I take it, intertwining our fingers.

Ready to eat? He asks.

Yes, I am. I smile at him.

We go in and order our food. We talk for a couple hours until its time for me to go home. I better head home. Its getting late. I tell him.

Yea, I better get back and relieve the babysitter of Lily. He walks me to my car.

Ill see you tomorrow at school. He leans in, gives me a small kiss.

Bye, love. He says over his shoulder.

Bye. I head back home.

As soon as I walk in I hear my aunt in the kitchen Auntie, Im home! I yell.

How was your day dear? she calls.

It was good. Very good. I smile. Walking into the kitchen and sitting down. Are you hungry my dear? she asks.

Actually, I had dinner with Jace earlier. Thats where I just came from.

Oh, a date? It was with that boy that makes you smile all the time, isnt it? When do I get to meet him!? she says excitedly.

Its only been a couple dates. He says he really likes me, but thats all thats came from them. I tell her.

Well, do you like him? As much as he likes you? she asks me.

I do auntie, he is so sweet and caring. Nothing like when I first met him. When we first met, he was a real ass. Very conceited. I totally messed with his head in detention. I say. Whoops, did I just tell her that. SHIT SHIT SHIT!!

Haseya, what did you do? she looks at me. Amusement in her eyes. She knows me too well. So, I look at her and tell her everything I did that first day in detention. I mean come on. It was priceless. I just couldnt help myself. After I get done telling her about it, the look on her face, I couldnt contain my laughter.

You did what? she says. I look up at her. She starts laughing so hard shes crying. Really, all you can do is laugh. I cant help but join in. My uncle walks in.

Whats so funny? he asks. Looking at us, confusion on his face. Its just girl things. Nothing to worry about. Maybe Ill tell you one day. I give him a hug and a big smile.

I go upstairs, take a shower, and get into my pajama pants and a tank top. I look down to my phone and I have a text from Ashlyn.

Ashlyn: Hey girl. Where you been this weekend?

Haseya: Well, I had a date with Jace.

Ashlyn: What!?

Haseya: Yea, Ill have to tell you all about it tomorrow.

Ashlyn: Girl, I want all the details.

Haseya: You will get them, I promise. Im off to bed. Goodnight!

Ashlyn: Goodnight chicky!

I have another one from Jace.

Jace: Hey love, I hope you made it home safe. Ill see you tomorrow. Dream of me. ;)

Haseya: Yea, I made it home. I will talk to you tomorrow. Only in your dreams, lover boy. Goodnight.

Jace: Goodnight.

With that, I fall into a dreamless sleep. Or so I thought, until I woke up.
