I so do not want to get up for school. How can I face Jace after last night? I'm just so embarrassed! I drag myself out of bed and head to the shower. 20 minutes later, I get out. Deciding to wear my hair down, because I'm lazy like that, I go into my closet. Trying to decide on something to wear, I decide to go with a blue crop top and a white skirt. Put on my blue wedges and head on down. I greet everyone and take an apple.
"Riley, I'm just driving myself today." I yell, walking out the door.
"Ok sugar, love you! See you at school." She says, as I walk out the door.
As I arrive at school, I see Jace's bike. Ugh, how am I going to ignore him? I hurry into the school, and see him by my locker.
"Haseya, can we please talk? I need to explain myself." He says.
"Jace, look, it's ok. I'm sorry for even asking. It was just foolish of me. I'll see you later." With that I walk off to my first class, science which, I have with Jace.
I forgot about that. As I walk in, I see Riley and take a seat next to her. "What's wrong?" She asks
"Jace came up to me trying to get me to talk to him about last night. I just can't. It still kind of stings. 4 days here, and already I'm sad about a guy, Riley. Why is that?" I sigh.
"Sweetie, sometimes, the heart wants what the heart wants. Maybe you should listen to him." She states.
That's exactly what my mom said last night. Maybe I should give him a chance to explain. Jace then walks in and sits next to me.
"Haseya, can we talk at lunch? Please?" He sounds desperate.
"I guess." I say, then turn towards the front.
With that, the teacher comes in and class starts. After class, the rest of my pre-lunch classes go with ease. Amber has been unusually quiet. Makes me a little worried.
It's lunch time. As soon as I get my food, I go sit next to Ashlyn.
"Hey girl! What's been going on? You've been quiet." She says.
"Hello to you too, hey James."
"Sup, Haseya?" he says.
"Reason I've been quiet is that I took your advice and asked Jace on a date. And it didn't go so well. He just stared at me like I was crazy."
James pipes in, "You asked him on a date? Isn't it supposed to be the other way around!?"
"It is, and maybe I just should've let it be that way." I sigh.
"Girl, I'm sorry. It's my fault. I shouldn't have told you to do that." She gives me sad smile.
"It's ok Ashlyn, we're supposed to talk sometime here soon. So maybe I will get some answers." I try to sound hopeful.
Jace P.O.V
I can't help but look at Haseya, I don't know what I'm going to say to her. I just know I need to talk to her. Explain why I didn't answer.
"Dude, what's wrong? You keep staring at that girl." Andrew says to me.
"I can't help it bro. There is just something about her. She asked me out on a date." Right then, Ryder spits out his drink.
"She did what!? Omg dude. What did you say?" he looks at me.
"I didn't say anything. I just stared at her. I didn't know what to say to her." I turn my head to my friends.
"Well, do you like her?" says Sam.
"I don't know. There is something about her that draws me towards her. I've only known her for a few days, though." I said.
"What are you going to do about it then?" Andrew asks me.
Andrew is my closest friend. He gives me this look. Like, go talk to her.
"I'll be back guys. I have to go talk to someone." With that I get up and walk over to her.
When I get up to her, I see her friends, Ashlyn and James, sitting with her.
"May I borrow Haseya for a few minutes?" Ashlyn gives me a grin.
"Of, course." I see Haseya glare at her.
With that, she gets up. I grab her hand in mine. Feeling a few tingles.
"Come on." I take her outside by a tree where no one is. We sit down.
"I'm sorry I didn't say anything." I tell her.
"I told you, it was fine. I shouldn't have asked you. There is nothing for you to be sorry about." She looks at me.
"Yes, I do owe you an apology. I was in shock. I have never been asked on a date, ever. So being asked by someone was a little bit of a shocker. Especially someone I haven't know for very long. That's why I didn't answer." I tell her.
"Oh." Is all she said, looking down at the ground. Playing with the grass.
She looks so beautiful. Her long black hair, tanned skin and long legs. He hair just looks so soft. I just want to touch it. Feel it in between my fingers. And those eyes, so innocent looking, but I know what's behind them. It's the same as me. I can tell. She is hiding something. Something painful. Something I wish I could take away. Wait. Why am I saying this stuff? I don't even know if I like the girl. In the back of my mind, I know I do. But, I don't do that kind of thing. It's not me. I'm not that guy.
"Jace?" I hear.
"Huh? What?" I turn and look at her.
"Your staring off into space." She tells me.
"Oh, sorry. I'm just thinking. How about we make this right?" I look at her.
"Right? What do you mean?" she questions.
"I mean, how about I ask you on a date Saturday night?" I give her a big grin.
"I would very much enjoy that." She smiles.
Yes!! I'm the guy, so I should be the one asking her out. "I'll walk you to class. With that, we get up and go.
Haseya P.O.V
Wow, I can't help but smile. He asked me out on a date. I can't help but get these butterflies. I'm all giddy. Ugh, girl get it together. As I walk in the door my aunt looks at me.
"Now, now, now, what's that smile for?" she gives me a grin.
"Umm, well, I kind of got asked out on a date." I smile sheepishly.
"Oh, my goodness!!! I can't believe it! Is he cute? Is he nice?" she comes towards me giving me a big hug.
"Yea, and yes auntie. We're going out on Saturday night." I say hugging her back. Now, I must go tell Riley." I run up the stairs.
"RILEY!!" I yell going into my room.
"What? What? What? What's going on?" she comes running in.
"He asked me out. Jace asked me out!" I say, blushing.
She comes and gives me a hug. "I knew it would work out! I told you!"
"Dinner is ready!!" we hear from downstairs.
I look at Riley. "I guess it's time to eat."
