Jace P.O.V
She just asked me on a date. This beautiful girl in front of me, asked me on a date. I can't believe it. I don't know what to say. I never thought this would happen. I imagined asking her on a date, not the other way around. All I can do is stand here and look at her. I can't make my mouth work. I want to. I would love to, but I can't get the words out of my mouth. As I'm about to say something I hear.
"You know what, never mind. I will see you tomorrow. Goodnight!" She runs into her house.
"Haseya!! Come back!!" I yell.
But she doesn't. So, with that I just walk back to my bike, and think about what I'm going to say to her tomorrow.
Haseya P.O.V
Omg, he isn't saying anything. It's been a few minutes, and he's just staring at me. I know this was a bad idea. Why did I listen to Ashlyn? For some reason, I thought maybe, he liked me too.
"You know what, never mind. I will see you tomorrow. Goodnight!" I run into my house and as I start to walk up the stairs, I hear my aunt, "Dinner will be ready soon!"
"I'll be down soon!"
As I get to my room, I try to stop the tears but I can't. I don't know why, but I can't. I hear a knock on my door.
"Can I come in?" Riley walks in and sits down.
"What's wrong?" she asks me, her voice laced in concern.
"I... I... I asked him on a date, and he didn't give me an answer. He just looked at me like I was crazy." I start crying.
I don't know why though. He's just some boy. There will be others, right?
"Oh, sweetie, it'll be ok. I'm here for you. I have something that will calm you down though. It's a surprise, but moms calling. Let's go eat." She grabs my hand and we walk downstairs.
"I made spaghetti and breadsticks!" We all sit down for a nice dinner.
"How was your day, Haseya?" my uncle asks me.
"It was ok. Wasn't the greatest. But it wasn't the worst either." I tell him.
"It'll get better sweetie. I know it." He gives me a genuine smile.
"May I be excused? I'm tired." I ask my aunt and uncle.
"Of course, sweetie. Get some sleep." I walk up to my room and sit on my bed. I look and see I have a text.
Jace: Hey, can we talk?
Jace: Please, I need to explain why I didn't say anything.
Jace: Love, please answer me.
Jace: I'll talk to you tomorrow. Goodnight.
I want to answer him, I do. I'm afraid though. I don't want to be rejected. I just leave it.
"Hey sweetie. I have something to cheer you up." Next thing I know she brings out some peyote. "Here sweetie, have some and get some sleep." With that, I get into my pajamas, bring out my pipe, and lay down.
*Vision*
"My dear daughter. Here we are again. This boy, you need to listen to him. Give him a chance to explain himself. Don't let it slip by you."
"Mom, I'm afraid of being rejected. I know there will be other boys. There is something about him though. I know I haven't know him long. I'm drawn to him somehow. Mom, what do I do?"
"You know what to do. It's all in front of you. You must give it a little time. I love you Haseya. Goodbye."
"Mom! Mom, wait!"
*End of Vision*
What does she mean? It's all in front of me? I don't know what she is talking about. I just need to figure it out, and quick. With that, I fall asleep.
