As soon as I got home, my aunt and Riley were waiting for me. Of course, I'm walking in with a huge smile. "Omg! What are you smiling about?" Riley asks me. My aunt listening closely. "Well, Jace asked me to be his girlfriend." I smile, blushing. "OMG, OMG, OMG!!" Riley yells, running around the house. "Riley, calm down!" I say, grabbing her arms and stopping her. I look over to my aunt and she has the biggest smile on her face. "Well, we definitely have to celebrate this! Jason! Get your ass down here! Haseya's got some news!" she yells. I hear him come down the stairs. "You crazy woman! You scared the hell out of me!" he looks at my aunt. Adoration in his eyes, we all know how much they love each other. I hope I have that one day. "What is this news that has your aunt so worked up and excited about?" he asks me. "Well, this guy I have been hanging out with, he asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course, I said yes. I really like him." I tell my uncle. "Haseya, I'm happy for you! We have to have him over for dinner soon!" "Mom, I think we should celebrate! What do you say?" Riley looks at my aunt. We all know what Riley wants to do. "Let me go get the stuff. You guys go sit down and relax." So, my aunt comes out with some peyote, and we all have a little bit of it. "Well, I'm tired, I'm going to go to bed." "Goodnight." They all say at once. As I lay down and close my eyes, I see her.
*Vision*
"Haseya, my dear. I'm so proud of you. You did take my advice, and I know he will treat you right." She tells me. I sit up on my bed, I know she's not here, but right now, I don't care. She walks over and sits on my bed next to me. I swear I can feel it dip down. "Mom, why do I only see you when I smoke? Why can't I see and talk to you without it?" I ask her. Tears welling in my eyes, wishing I could talk to her all the time. "Haseya, I'm not sure why, but please, don't do anything reckless. I know it may not make sense now, but keep that in mind. I don't want anything happening just because you want to see me. I want you to do something for me. I know things are coming along good for you. I need you to look back of when you first left for your aunt's. Please do that for me. I love you! Remember what I said."
*End of Vision*
With that, she disappears, and I'm left trying to process what she means, about becoming reckless. I'll worry about that later. She wants me to look back a year ago, back when I first came here. I don't know why, but I feel like I need to. With that I close my eyes, trying to remember what happened.
*Flashback*
As I leave my tribe, I look back. Anger radiating off my father's face, my brother, not even looking at me. I don't have much to take with me. Just a few things. I got a little information about my aunt, where she lives, and her number, from someone, that will remain unnamed. So, I leave and find the nearest town. Knowing the little English I do right now, I go into a small store, and ask to use a phone. As the phone is ringing, I get really nervous, wondering if she will take me in, or will she turn me away. "Hello" I hear. "Is this Shadi?" I ask into the phone. I can tell my voice is a little shaky. "Yes, this is her. If I may ask, who is this calling?" I can tell she is a little aggravated, having an unknown number calling her. "Shadi, this is Yahana, your niece." I tell her. "Yahana? Is it really you? What's the matter?" she asks me. Sounding frantic. "Shadi, I left the tribe, and I was wondering if you could help me out." I ask her. Starting to cry, thinking that she won't. "My dear, where are you?" I tell her my location. "I'm going to get the next flight out of here and I'm going to come pick you up. You can tell me all about it then." She tells me. I'm in tears, crying my eyes out. "What's wrong my dear?" she asks me. "I was afraid that you would turn me away. You're the only one I know that could help me." I tell her. "I'll be there in a few hours, and you can tell me all about it then. Is that ok? You just stay where you are." She tells me. "Ok, I will see you when you get here." I tell her and hang up the phone.
*End of Flashback*
I was only able to remember some of it, before I heard my phone ring. It's Ashlyn calling me. "Hello?" I answer. "Girl! I just heard through the grapevine that you and Jace are together now!? Is that true?" she asks me. "Yes, it is. I will tell you all about it tomorrow though! I promise." I tell her. "Girl, you better." And then we hung up. Oh crap, I forgot to text Jace.
Haseya: I'm home
Jace: Ok babe. Goodnight.
Haseya: Goodnight
Feeling like the luckiest girl in the world right now, I put up my phone, and go to sleep. Praying that all this is not a dream when I wake up in the morning.
Hey Peaches!
This is just more of a filler chapter.
I wanted to give you a little bit of insight of how Haseya got to her aunt's house. That is just slice of it, though. You will hear more about it later. Right now though, it is 1 o'clock in the morning and I'm am heading off to bed. Goodnight!
Love you all!
