I let you go, I let you drift away
I fixed the broken pieces, and now they're here to stay
You words were like bullets that shot me to the ground
But the war just made me stronger, the courage I've at last found
You are just my yesterday, a memory I'll try to forget
I'd rather plunge into the vales of death than replay the day we first met
Today I found someone new, someone I will remember
Someone who made me laugh despite the pain you let me encounter
You left me outside on a cold winter night and forgot me altogether,
But it was he who held me tight in his arms that dreadful night in December
You'll tell me I moved on too quickly, that I needed an excuse to move on,
But a new day and a new beginning have at last arrived and your words have been long gone.
