Tie up all my secrets in a leather-bound diary,
And throw the lock away
Write out all my problems on a sheet of paper,
And start a bright new day
Writing every detail, every word matters here,
Signing it off with the date,
Then writing my name with a little smiley face,
The happiness in my world I'll create
Even if a day doesn't go as planned,
I write about it anyway,
Whatever I can I will try to achieve,
But sometimes life doesn't go your way
Writing out my secrets helps me process reality,
It helps me recollect my thoughts
It helps me go through all my daily struggles,
And accounts all the battles I've fought
I can collectively keep all my ideas in one place,
Not fretting about misplacing,
Whenever I need comfort I grasp my metal lock,
And twist the key through as my thoughts are racing
I like to keep my life under a leather-bound diary,
Happily locked away
Away from the perils life brings with it,
And shelter them till a bright new day.
