It was almost Thanksgiving, just 3 more weeks until I'd be reminded of what me and Farkle once had. As the days went by, I found myself unsatisfied with how things were going. It was time to make a move, and fast.
Me, Zay and Maya all huddled at a table while I spied on the blond petite girl who continuously flirted with Farkle.
"Just look at her." I snarled to nobody in particular. "It's... It's.."
"Pathetic?" Maya offered.
"Ooh ooh, I know, useless?" Zay said sarcastically, earning him a slap in the chest.
"It's sickening. We need to do something, that witch can't flirt with my Farkle!"
Zay rolled his eyes at my complaining. "Sorry to break it to ya, but he's not your Farkle anymore!"
I clenched my jaw, but managed to keep quiet about our kiss. What did they know? Farkle wouldn't go after somebody else other than me, right?
"Enough of this," Maya huffed, stomping up to the counter. I cringed as she slammed her hands on the table. "Farkle Minkus, where is my child support!"
"Oh no." Zay chuckled, grinning at the scene that was unfolding in front of us. "Oh, yes." I smiled in satisfaction. It was never like me to wish bad upon people, nor embarrass them, but what else could I do? Act like a jealous girlfriend, minus the girlfriend part?
"What are you talking about, Maya?" Farkle furrowed his eyebrows. The Blondie at the counter quickly rushed out of the bakery once Maya gave her the evil eye. "Riles, the coast is clear!"
"Peaches, you blew my cover!"
"You blew your own cover, kid. Now go talk to him!"
I sighed in response and hesitantly made my way up to the counter, where Farkle held a mocking smirk on his face. "You put her up to this?"
"She did it herself!" I defended, but only to be hit in the head by a glove. "Okay, I kind of sort of wanted her to do it."
"Better!" Maya shouted from behind me.
"Tell you what, how about you meet me at the park after my shift. I have a surprise for you." Farkle kissed my forehand. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to chase down my cousin!"
"Y-your what now?" I stammered, growing embarrassed.
"My cousin Trinity, you know, the one Maya chased away!"
Zay continued to watch in amusement as Maya quickly hid under the table. "Sorry about that..."
Farkle chuckled lightly.
"I'm sure she'll understand."**
That night was extremely cold, meaning I had to wait in 20 degree weather for Farkle to show up with his "surprise." I pulled my fur coat closer to my body, desperate for at least a bit of warmth.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
In front of me was Farkle, with a bouquet of flowers, chocolate, and a black box. He wasn't wearing a coat or even a jacket, only a navy blue tuxedo that matched with the red bow he had pinned to it. I smiled warmly into his kind blue eyes, which were almost brownish looking in the moonlight.
We didn't have to exchange any words for us to know what was bound to happen. Farkle bent down on one knee and opened the box, to reveal a beautiful blue jeweled promise ring. Inside the box rea: "To my dearest Riley, Farkle." In script print."I-it's gorgeous-"
Farkle put his index finger to my mouth, silencing me. "Will you let me have the honor of you being mine again, Riley Matthews?"
I nodded almost immediately. Finally, he was mine again! "Let's get you out of the cold... Babe."
Farkle grinned widely at the pet name, getting off of his knee and onto his feet. "As you wish!" He exclaimed, carrying me to my bay window.
"Farkle! How did you get so damn strong!""I have my ways." He smirked, leaning in to kiss me. I gladly accepted, wrapping my arms around his neck to pull him closer. That moment was all that mattered then, me and him. Forever.
