My arms start to cramp up as I am attempting to French braid my hair. I'm almost finished. Now if I could just regain the feeling in my arms it would be great.
I let out a great, big sigh as I drop my hands to my side. Finally done. And it doesn't look half bad either.
It's the day after Timothy texted me and were about to go to the movies. I've been dying to see "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them" since I heard of it. And it's a big plus that I'm seeing it with Timothy.
"You almost ready?"
Nate yells at me from downstairs.
"Yeah! Coming!"
I grab my navy blue and pink striped purse and run down the stairs.
"It's about time. What were you doing up there anyway?"
He asks as we walk to the car.
"Braiding my hair. If you had longer hair you would know the struggle. But you don't. So just trust me."
He pulls out of the driveway and starts on the 5 minute drive to Carmike Cinemas. The only movie theater in town.
"So it's November in one more day. That's crazy right?"
I say with a chuckle. Oh how the year flies by.
"Yeah it is. It's completely insane. Thanksgiving soon too."
He replies.
"Yeah thanksgiving. Is there anything else big in November?"
I ask.
"Nah not really. Nothing I can think of."
He says shaking his head.
I let out a sigh audible only to me.
"Yeah I can't think of anything either."
Only my 15th birthday. I don't want anyone making a big deal of it, but it would be nice if he remembered. Maybe he will when it's closer to time.
We pull into the parking lot and get out of the car. Timothy stands by the ticket booth waiting for us.
He gives a little wave and walks closer to us.
"Don't be awkward. Don't be awkward."
I tell myself in my head.
"Hey guys!"
He says when he's standing next to me.
"Hey Timothy."
Nate says as we all walk back up to the ticket booth.
"How are you Ellie?"
He asks me while flashing a gorgeous grin.
"Oh I'm good. How about you?"
I smile in return.
"I'm doing fine."
It's our turn in line for tickets and we each step up to pay for our own and then we walk inside. Nate gets popcorn in our popcorn refill bucket so we can all share. I get a small Sprite and they both get large Dr Pepper.
After giving a lady our tickets we head inside the theater. There's no one here right now and that's just the way I like it.
"Wow. Whole theater to ourselves."
Timothy says voicing my thoughts.
We pick a seat right in the middle. Nate sits in the left, Timothy in the middle, and me in the right.
Commercials start playing soon after we had been seated. There was one Coke ad and it was about a boy taking a girl to see a movie but everything went wrong. His parents were narrating it while they reminisced about their first date. Basically everything that happened to them happens to their son. But then the mom says "I remember the most important part. The moment I knew you were the one." And then the girl on the date holds the boy's hand and they both smile.
"Ellie. You listen up here. You don't know that the boy is the one just from the first date and holding hands. You never know what that boy will do. Cause trust me, if a boy ever breaks your heart I'll break his face."
Nate says pointing a finger at me.
