My eyes flutter open as I wake up from my surprisingly peaceful slumber. I'm confused for a moment because I woke up in a strange bed, but then the details of last night replay in my mind. The good and the bad ones. Through Timothy's window next to his bed, I see that the sun has barely risen so it's still fairly dark outside.

I try to scoot over in the bed a bit but something refrains me from doing so. I look down and see Timothy's arm still wrapped protectively around my waist. I smile to myself.

I carefully detach his arm from me and remove his blanket then crawl out of his bed. He moves slightly but becomes still after a moment.

I quietly open the door and head back to the room I am currently sleeping in. There I make my bed and lean against the propped up pillows. I grab my phone and, even though it's seven o'clock on a weekend, send a message to Katherine and Kadence.

Ell- hey. You guys up and down for a call?

I scroll mindlessly through Instagram for about five minutes before Katherine texts back.

Kat- well seeing as you woke me up... sure

Ell- I sent that message five minutes ago. And you just now wake up?

Kat- no I've been awake, just laying in bed contemplating on if I want to answer or not. Obviously I chose you over sleep.

Kat- and you also never called back last night. What happened?

Ell- all will be explained in a moment.

Kadence joins in then.

Kade- okay, why are we talking and why am I not sleeping?

Ell- you can go back to bed grumpy. Just wanted to talk

Kade- nah. I'm already awake. What's up?

Ell- can I call? It'd be easier to explain

Kade- go ahead

I go into my contacts and call Kadence then I add in Katherine.

"Hey."
I start off.
"You can hear me?"

"Loud and clear. Now spill."
Kat says.

I take a deep breath and tell them everything from the moment mom rushed into the bakery to getting to Timothy's house last night.

There's a stunned silence after I finish until Kat breaks it.

"Oh my gosh Ellie. I'm so sorry. That really sucks."

"Yeah. It kinda does."

Kade then joins in.
"Okay hold on. You're staying at Timothy's house?!"

"Kadence! Be a bit more sensitive! Geez!"
Katherine says loudly at her.

I chuckle and roll my eyes.
"It's okay. Yes I am Kade."

"Is it awesome?"

"Well under the circumstances, not really."

"Right. I'm sorry. I guess that was a bit insensitive..."
She apologizes.
