I looked up at the tall boy looking down at me.
"What do you think you're doing?" He laughed.
I didn't say anything. Afraid if I talked that I'll make everything worse.
"Go on! Answer me!" He shouted.
"N-Nothing." I strutted.
"Aw is the baby having troubles talking." One of the boys laughed.
'Please just leave me alone!' My mind cried.
I tired showing that I wasn't scared, and they couldn't affect me in any ways... but I'm bad at that. They knew that I was scared.
"Your penny, right?" Ken said.
"U-um y-yea." I looked down at my feet not wanting to make eye contact.
"LOOK AT HIM WHEN HE TALKS TO YOU!" A guy shoved me.
"You're that loner who no one likes." Ken started.
(Sorry for what he's about to say! U can skip. This is friction btw)
~~~
"Ha! I don't blame them! Like look at you! Ugly! Brat! Oh.... yea! Your dad dead, didn't he? I think he committed suicide to get away from you!!" He laughed to himself.
~~
I couldn't take that! I pushed pass all the boys as I balled my eyes out running through the school. I ran as fast as a bullet. I could feel everyone's burning eyes staring at me.
I was running towards the toilets.
I ran into a cubby and pulled the toilet seat down and sat there with my feet up.
I put my head into my knees as tears fell down my bright right cheeks. I was aware of people in the bathroom but chose to ignore them and just cry. Everyone already knows that I'm a freak anyway. No point hiding it anymore.
I started sweating like mad as I was panicking. My anxiety was going through the roof right now and there was no way of me calming myself down. My depression is getting worse every time! I hate being like this! Why can't I stop it!
'Maybe there is no point me being here? And anyway, I'll be able to see my dad.' I thought to myself before realising. No, I wouldn't! He's in heaven and I'll just go to hell.
**
I skipped the rest of my classes not wanting the rest of the world to see me like this. So, I just hide in the bathroom till the bell rang for home time.
I wiped away all my tears with my sleeve. I walked over to the mirror and I looked like a zombie.
Bags under my eyes as big as China. Tear strained eyes and you could just see how dark I see everything just through my eyes.
I tried calming myself down and then walked out like nothing happen.
I was almost at the door getting ready to walk home when I felt a tight grin on my shoulders spinning me around. My eyes widen when I saw Craig. The guy I meet at the bus stop.
"Hi? Are you ok?" He asked as his face was plastered with worry.
"Y-Yes... I'm f-fine." I lied not wanting another person to hate me and think I just want attention.
"Are you sure?? I saw you running down the halls at lunch? And you looked like you were crying?" He said in a questioning voice.
"I-I'm fine!! Ok! I-it's none of y-your business! Now l-leave me alone." I pushed him away.
He looked at me shocked as I walked away into the dull day.
It was teaming outside. I had no coat or umbrella, so I must walk in the rain. But the rain can be quite relaxing sometimes. Just listening to the water fall and hit off the ground, there's something about it what makes it so calming.
As I walked my hair started getting soaking wet. I was only wearing my baggy hoodie with jeans, so I wasn't that warm. As I got near my house I took a u turn and walked down another street near my house. I couldn't go back home. I hate it there now. There's only one place I'm welcome now.
I walked up to an old-fashioned cottage and knocked on the door, waiting.
It took a few minutes until the door was opened. There stood was the most caring face I've ever seen. My Grandmother. She smiled with her fake teeth making more wrinkles visible. She was quite old but that never stopped her from doing anything. She never believed in being 'too old' to do anything. She's the most energetic 79-year-old woman I've ever seen.
"Oh my gosh! Darling come in." Her smiled dropped when she saw her only granddaughter hiding behind her soaking fringe with her arms cross trying to keep herself warm.
I stepped into the house and immediately got a smell of her house, bringing back old memories when I use to come here every day after school to visit her. Her homemade cookies still could be smelt in the air.
"Sit down by the fire and get yourself dry." She pushed me down onto a comfy seat in front of a blitzing fire.
She quickly walked out of the room returning with a towel and a pile of clothes.
"You're lucky I still have your mother's old clothes here." She laughed as she fast walked over to me. "Here dry yourself." She handed me the towel as I started drying my hair.
"Thanks." I said almost in a whisper.
I got changed into my mother's old clothes. I felt a warm relief wearing her clothes. Like I'm safe in these clothes.
I chose to wear a white long dress with poke a dot on it, but I decided to wear it was a top with some black leggings I found.
"You look so much like your mother." My grandmother awed as I walked back into the room. I gave her a weak smile.
"So, tell me child, what brings you here?" She said as her mixed coloured eyes sparkled with empathy.
I looked at her wide eyed. She's the only person who cares about me right now. And I need to get this off my chest before I explore. I know she wouldn't tell anyone...
