Chapter 2

Ruby's POV

 3 Months Later-

 I was running around trying to get ready for work as well as trying to tidy up my ALWAYS messy apartment I get a phone call. I scramble around trying to find my black iPhone. When I eventually find it the ringing stops. As I'm already late for work I shrug on my trench coat, pop the phone into the pocket and jump into my boots. I swing my front door open of my small apartment. The cold October air attacks me. My long black hair blowing all over. I shiver and start to button my coat up as I jump into my car. I get another phone call just as I start the engine up.

"Really! What in the freaking world could be so important!!!!" I shout to myself. I take the phone out of my pocket and greet as nicely as a "Hello" I can when I'm so stressed out.

"Hello, is that Miss Winters?" a strong authoritative voice booms into the phone.

"Yes, who's calling?" I ask starting to get worried.

"It's Green side hospital, we need you to get here as soon as possible." He hesitates for a moment before continuing.  "Your friends, Jess and Niall Horan and their daughter Alexa have been in a serious car crash." I sit there speechless. Not saying one word.

"I'm sorry Miss Winters, the sooner you get here the better."

"I'm on m- my way." I stutter. I chuck my phone down on the passenger seat and speed to Green side. When I arrive I quickly run to the main entrance of the hospital. 

"Jess, Niall and Alexa Horan" I speed

"I'm sorry Miss, you need to slow down." the stupid receptionist answers. Can she not see what kind of state I'm in.

"FOR FUCK'S SAKE! Tell me where they are now!" I scream until I feel to large hands on my waist. I turn around to be greeted with two beautiful soft green orbs. I look up at him as he looks down upon me with wordiness latched into his eyes.

"Harry!" I sob into his chest. I feel no awkwardness from the party at all I need him right now and he needs me. He gently rubs my back and strokes my hair.

"Shhh baby it's ok." He whispers. 

"Sorry, who are you here to see" the receptionist interrupts. 

"Erm… Niall, Jess and Alexa Horan" Harry replies shakily.

"Oh yes." She frowns. "They've been put into the family room just around the corner room 101, you'll need to hurry. Go, go now!" She half smiles.

 Harry's POV

 I guide Ruby to the "family room". Looking down at the beautiful girl who looks absolutely broken. I think I got to find out more information about what happened then Ruby did by the looks of things. It's not good. I lead her into the room and open the door. I gasp at the sight I see while Ruby weeps some more in my arms. I hold her tighter and try to soothe her. Lying on the two hospital beds motionless, Jess and Niall. Attached to machinery most likely keeping them alive. They are battered and bruised. Jess has a deep wound going from her cheek up to her fore head. I shake my head at the sight while Ruby shakes out of my grasp and goes and takes a seat next to Jess. I stand there just staring at them. Ruby grabs Jess' hand and starts stroking it. 

"It's going to be ok baby, we'll get you through it: me, Harry, Niall, Alexa, yours and Niall's family." She soothed although Jess most likely won't be able to hear. Just as it seems the penny dropped me and Ruby both look at each as she shouts and I mutter "Alexa".

"Stay there love, I'll get the nurse and see where she is" I tell Ruby. She nods her head and I leave the room. Stopping the nearest nurse I see.

"Excuse me, you haven't seen a little blonde girl, Alexa. She was rushed in with Jess and Niall Horan she was in a serious car crash." I stumbled with my words.

"Oh yes dear, she's fine don't worry. She only came out with a few scrapes and scratches. It seems as though the other car hit the front of the your friends car and as Alexa was securely in the back in her car seat, she's fine." She smiled. "She's in the children's room with another nurse, just go and get her." Then she pointed to a room just across the hall. I hurry in and see my beautiful angel smiling and laughing with an older nurse. I run over to her and scoop her up in my arms and spin her around. The nurse looks up at us and smiles.

"Hello baby." I tickle her. She giggles and pulls on my curls and gives me a big cheesy grin, if she only knew.

 "-arry." She says not pronouncing the h. I laugh and look down at her.

"Yes angel." She snuggles into my chest as I tell the nurse I'm going to take her into her parents room to see Ruby. The nurse nods in understanding. As I enter the room where Jess and Niall lie Ruby's in there talking to a doctor evident she's been crying some more. When she sees Alexa she runs over to her and hugs both of us while talking to Alexa. 

"Hello beautiful." She coos. We walk back over to the doctor and he starts again

"So as I was saying, they're both very seriously injured- " 

"- But they're going to be ok aren't they?" Ruby interrupts. He sighs.

"Heres the thing, I don't think either of them are going to make it."

"W- Wh- at" Ruby whispers. I hold her closer to me. I feel a tear running down my eye as Alexa wipes it away with her small little hand, not understanding why it is I'm crying.

"They haven't got long at all. I'm sorry both of you." He sighs. "We've rang their families, they should be on their way soon but you two were the emergency number." He looks at us

"Just spend as much time with them as possible" He says as he opens the door to leave. "I'm sorry again." He exits the room.

 We stand there motionless and speechless.
