Chapter 33

Harry's pov-

Do you want to take Alexa to nursery together today babe?" I asked Ruby after she had calmed down after the previous incident.

"Yeah I don't want to be alone today, not after that." She says pointing to the window. I pull her back into my arms and promise to keep her safe, and let her get ready while I get Alexa ready.

When I walk into her room she's already awake, I look in her wardrobe at all the over priced baby clothes Jess and Niall bought her and pick out black pants, white trainers and a black and orange striped hoody, Ruby is not going to be happy with my tomboy choice, but she's in dresses nearly every day of her life, I also put a pink and grey bobble hat over her head to keep her ears warm. Once Alexa is dresses I carry her into mine and Ruby's room, and await her reaction.

Ruby is in the middle of putting some mascara on her eyes so doesn't look over straight away, so I stand smirking waiting.

"Harry what you do want to do after we've dropped Alexa off?" She says still not looking.

"It's up to you, I don't mind?" I shrug as she finally looks over.

"Harry? What is she wearing, she has 100s of lovely dresses for nursery why is she dressed in trainers and a hoody?" She asks, I knew she wouldn't be happy, but it's funny. "She's Alexa, not Alex she's a girl remember."

"I know but she wear dresses all the time, I just thought I'd change it up a bit she looks like a cute little tomboy."

"Okay fine, but I need to do her hair you can't just shove a hat on she's not you." She mocks knowing how often I just throw a hat or a bandana to keep my wild curls off my face or hidden completely. She takes Alexa from me at the same time my phone rings.

"Hello?" I speak into the phone, walking downstairs.

"Harry it's DCI Banks, I'm going to have to have you down to the station we have received some new evidence."

"How long will it be for?"

"It shouldn't take to long we just need to let you know about the evidence and plan what action we are going to take, but nothing will happen today."

"Ok, is it ok if I bring someone with me?"

"As long as it's not a child, and they will be out of the way?"

"Of course Sir, they won't cause any trouble."

"Then it's fine with me, can you be here in the next 2 hours?"

"Yes, I'll be there."

"See you then styles." He answers bridge hanging up.

I turn to the staircase to see Ruby coming down with Alexa in her arms. Her long brown hair is flowing behind her, she's dressed in black jeans with a pale pink top, and a leopard print cardigan, she couldn't of looked more perfect, carrying Alexa with her made me remember how good of a mother figure she is, I literally couldn't do any better than Ruby, and now I've got her I'm never letting her go.

"So Harry I thought we could go and do some food shopping, becasue the fridge is starting to get a bit empty." She says whilst putting Alexa in her car seat to be carried to the car.

"About that Ruby I've been called into work." I reply

"But Harry I thought you said you wouldn't leave me today, I'm still scared shitless from before, can't you miss a day?" She pleas.

"Ruby I'm a detective on an important murder case, I can't miss a day."

"Please Harry, I really-"
