Chapter 9

Ruby's pov- (Earlier in the day after harry walks out)

Alexa was being quite restless, so I decided to talk her to the park. I got myself and Alexa wrapped up with our coats and scarves, before putting Alexa in her pushchair and locking the door. It wasn't too cold outside just slightly windy. I walked up the street to the local park, deciding to take Alexa on the swings, I know how much she loves them. I lift Alexa out of her pushchair and sit her on the grass while I move the push chair out of the way of the swings, when back around Alexa is gone.

Zayn's pov-

I couldn't think of anythging to do today, seeing as it was the weekend so I didn't have to be at the nursery. It seemed quite a nice day so decided to go for a walk to the park and get some ice cream, sad I know. I have just reached the park gates when I saw little Alexa Horan running towards me, trying to shout my name but making little sense, I look around for Ruby or Harry but saw nethier of them. I picked Alexa up before she got hurt and continued through the park looking for Ruby and Harry. In the distance I can hear somebody shouting Alexa's name, so I follow in the direction of the sound, seeing a distressed Ruby who looks on the verge of tears, she looks up in my direction seeing Alexa iin my arms and relief washes across her face as she runs up to us both englufing me and Alexa in a hug.

"Zayn, oh my god, I can't thank you enough, I mean I was watching her , I turned my back for a second and she was gone, I was so worried, oh, im so glad you found her, I don't know what I would of done if you weren't here." She frantically rambled.

"Slow down Ruby." I smiled

"Its fine you don't need to explain yourself top me, just as long as Alexa is okay."

"I know, but I honestly I can't thank you enough!"She replied taking Alexa from my arms.

"Don't worry about! So is Harry not here with you?" I asked, watching her frown as she heard his name.

"Oh no, erm we had an argument..." She says.

"Want to talk about it?" I asked, but she just shook her head saying nothing.

"You sure, a problem shared is a problem halved."

"No thanks, I'd rather not talk about it." She says sadly, he's a little dick for upsetting her, but I always knew he was like that.

"So I was just going to get some ice cream, want to join me?" I asked

"I would love to!" she smiled replying, making me smile as well.

We walked in a comfortable silence to the ice cream parlour, once we were inside Ruby took Alexa to find a seat whilst I got 99's for me and Ruby and a small tub of ice cream for Alexa. I can't believe my luck running in Ruby, especially without Harry here, I know I got her number after dinner the other week but I much prefer talking to people in person.

I walked over to the table Ruby and Alexa were sitting on, and that's where we stayed for the rest of the afternoon laughing and joking, enjoying each others company.

Ruby's pov-

Me, Zayn and Alexa sat in the ice cream parlour until closing times, I've been enjoying Zayn's company a lot especially after finding out Harry's feelings towards me, and I didn't really want to leave Zayn yet.

"Are you doing anything now?" I asked

"No I'll porbably just head home." He replies

"Well would you like to come back for coffee maybe?"I asked starting to feel nervous, what if he just feels sorry for me and doesn't even like me.

"Yeah, that would be nice." He repiles with what looks like a genuine smile, I smile back.

We walk back to Jess and Niall's which I suppose I should start calling mine and Harry's. We get back in about 5 minutes its not far from the park. When we get in I sit Alexa in the living room setting out her toys, leaving Zayn to watch her while I make our coffees. I walk back into the living rooms with our drinks to see Zayn sitting on the carpet playing with Alexa, helping her do the jigsaw, as much as Alexa is laughing along, I don't see the brightness in her eyes like when Harry's with her. Just as I was thinking of Harry I hear him shout my name, shit he's not going to be happy Zayn's here, but he deserves it after this morning.

"In here harry." I shout to him sitting down next to Zayn and Alexa. Harry walks in with shopping bags, watching his eyes widen as he sees Zayn sitting here.

This is not going to end well...

Harry's pov-

"What the fuck." I whisper to myself

How does he seem to appear every single time Ruby and me argue, its like he has physic abilities to know when were not talking, so he can come in playing up to be the hero, when he's just a pathetic loser. I ignore both of them walking straight to the kitchen, and start to put the shopping away trying to stay calm. After five minutes Ruby walks into the kitchen, I can't deal with another argument when he's here.

"Har-."

"No Ruby stop." I cut her off

"Its not the time, I know we need to talk and sort things out, buts there's no dam way I'm doing it with him sitting in their with our Alexa!" I half shout half whisper. Right on cue he walks in the kitchen.

"Oh for fucks sake!" I mutter

"Sorry for interrupting but I'm going to get off now." He said, thank god.

"I'll see you out zayn." Ruby politly replies

"No, it's fine I'll do it." I spit in anger, this boy needs to be told.

We walk in silence to the front door, I cant even look at the smirk plastered across his smug face, or I will completely loose it.

"It was nice to see you again Harry." He sarcastically remarks as we reach the door, that's it I've had it. I shove him up against the wall by his shoulders.

"Listen, I don't know what kind of game you're playing here, but you need to stay away from me, Ruby and Alexa, we're never going to be the family Niall and Jess wanted if you're constantly trying to stick you're foot in the door, I know your Alexa's nursery teacher but that is where I draw the line, now fuck off and if I ever see you face in this house again you'll be sorry." I spat shoving him out of the door. He stands still staring at me straight in the eye, still smirking.

"I would be careful who you throw these threats at Harry, it could always turn back in your face I know a lot of things about you, that I for sure know you wouldn't want Ruby to know." He arrogantly states. I'm quite taken back, how the hell does he know things about me.

"Like what?" I quetsion.

"Two words Ellie Knight."

And with that he turns on his heel walking through the gate and away leaving me speechless.
