Chapter 36

Harry's POV

I hold the old black phone in my hand confused of why I have just found it in Ruby's bag, why would she have and does she know it's mine? What the fuck...

"Harry, have you found it?"

I turn my head to the voice but realize that she still sits in the living room,

"Y-yeah" I stutter "Just a minute"

I rummage through the bag looking for Ruby's old tattered diary and quickly turn my old phone off and shove it in my back pocket before walking into the living room greeted with the sight of cream smothered all over Ruby's face, I chuckle and chuck the diary over to her. 

She raises an eyebrow "That took a while" While she wipes the cream off her face.

"Not that long" I laugh "It's a small diary and a big bag" 

"True true" She smirks "I think I need a new one of these" She says holding the diary up too her face giving in a close inspection.

"That you do" I tell her with a smirk "I'm just going to go in the other room to make a quick phone call about work" I lie 

"Okay" She smiles and nods 

I make a swift exit to the furthest bedroom away from the living room which just happens to be one of the spare guest rooms. I grab my old phone out of my back pocket and turn it on, it makes that stupid noise them old phones do when they get switched on. I twiddle with my thumbs impatiently until the screen flashes on and 5 more missed calls have appeared off Ellie. I quickly go on missed calls and ring Ellie back, she needs to be told once and for all. I hold the phone to my ear and after one ring that bitch picks up.

"Omg Harry! Thank god you picked up" She screeches down the phone

"What the fuck Ellie, why do you keep ringing me" I shout-whisper at the same time not wanting Ruby to hear.

"I only fucking rang you because you sent me a bullshit text baby" She tells me, what the fuck is she talking about I never sent her any text.

"No... I didn't" Then it all clicks... Ruby

"Harry don't play games, you did! You couldn't keep away could you" She coos

I scoff "I'm not playing games, what the fuck did it say?"

"Urgh not like you don't already know but if you really want me too repeat it 'Why can't we just forget about it? Why are you trying to hold this against me?'" She rattles off

"Oh shit" I mumble under my breath 

"What? Anyways you know what I'm holding against you and you also know why" She huffs "I still get nightmares of that day, but it could all get blamed on you Harry. It still can" She says deviously 

"Just leave us alone Ellie"

"You know what I want Harry" She says "You. I lov-" 

I press the end call button, I don't want to hear what else she has to say. I don't want her, I have never wanted her, she was an easy shag at first that turned in to be a very deep mistake. I need to figure out what to do about this. So many things are eating up in my mind, I feel like its going to explode. I sit on the end of the bed for a couple of minutes with my head in my hands whilst my elbows rest on my legs. I breath in and out deeply before I get up go into mine and Ruby's bedroom, I open the draw which holds the gun by unlocking it and place the phone in the back of it. I can't let Ruby have it back but I hope she doesn't realise that it's missing out of her handbag. After I lock the draw and put the key into the plant pot I make my way into the living room and plant myself on the sofa next to Ruby, wrapping my arms around her and not wanting to let her go in case I lose her and she leaves me for what I've done. She hugs me back and I sigh in relief she rubs her face into my shoulder, I lift her chin up and look into her eyes, she looks worried. I kiss the side of her lips, her nose, her forehead and then eventually kiss her lips tenderly, again and again. She smiles into the kiss which I'm so thankful for, I never want to lose this girl. Ever.

"I love you babe" I look into her eyes again "So much"

She looks at me before faintly smiling "I love you too"

"We need to pick Alexa up soon" I look at my watch "In about 20 minutes"

"I know, we should get going now" She suggests and I nod.

Ruby's POV

Me and Harry arrive at the school a few minutes early so we wait for the kids with the other parents in the yard. Me and Harry hand in hand. I snuggle into his side, I don't want to believe that he's done anything wrong, I don't want to jump to conclusions either; that's got me know where in the past but sooner or later I need to face up to reality but for now I need to be happy with Harry I don't want him to leave me and I don't want to have to leave him. I hear Harry chuckling and then my leg suddenly jolts I look down to the the thing that's just slammed into my leg and smile at the sight below me.

Alexa clinging tight a hold of my leg. I let go of Harry and bend down to pick Alexa up. When I get back to full level I see Zayn standing before me and Harry. I tighten my hold on Alexa and grab Harry's hand, I know Zayn won't hurt me or Alexa but I feel safer this way. 

"Calmed down yet Harry?" Zayn raises and eyebrow while Alexa pulls my hair, I take my hair out of her grasp before butting in,

"What do you want Zayn" I sigh

"I just came over to say hi babe, that's all" He smirks 

Harry shakes his hand off mine even with my attempts to keep clinging on to it, he points his finger at Zayn before prodding him in the chest and pushing him slightly "Don't you dare, call her 'babe'" Harry mimicked babe in Zayn's accent and I couldn't help but chuckle a little.

"Aw doesn't Harry get jealous easily" Zayn spurs him on

Harry jolts forward to swing for Zayn but I push Harry back in time, which is pretty difficult with Alexa also in my arms "Whoa Harry. Don't. Not in front of Alexa" I tell him.

He looks at me and sighs knowing I'm right, he grabs my hand and we head back towards the car before Zayn shouts from behind us "Don't forget to buckle up Harry".
