Chapter 10

Ruby's pov-

Harry was still being his rude self barely talking to me after Zayn left, he didn't seem as angry anymore just really quiet, too quiet for Harry. I tried to ask what happened with him and Zayn, but he just completely cut me off again not wanting to talk about it, I don't even know why I bother making all this effort if it's going to get thrown back in my face. I go straight to my room, if Harry's not going to talk about anything I might as well catch up on all the sleep I'm loosing from Alexa waking up in the nights.

I woke up the next morning completely rested I think that's the first full nights sleep I've had since we started looking after Alexa. I climb out of bed to go and check on Alexa, as I open the door walking in I trip over something sending me flying to the ground but when I looked down it wasn't the carpet I landed on it was Harry, I slowly see his eyes open as he realises I'm on top of him, but I quickly crawl off before I'm lying on top of him face to face.

"What just happened?" Harry asked me yawning.

"Well you were lying right in front of the door, how was I supposed to get in with you blocking it!" I said on the verge of shouting, I'm still angry with him, just because it's a new day doesn't mean I'll forget how rude he's been.

"Oh sorry, I heard Alexa in the night, but you slept through it so I just up, but I must of fell asleep before I got back to my room," He replies sitting up, Alexa's still asleep so I leave her and turn back to Harry.

"So can we talk yet you have a lot if explaining to do!" I tell him

"Ruby, about yesterday I-" Harry starts but was cut off by his phone ringing.

"Hello?" He answers, I watch as Harry as he listens intently frowning slightly. He doesn't reply once just sits listening before locking his iPhone.

"I've got to go, I'm so sorry Ruby." He says, is he freaking kidding me right now.

"What's so important that you need to leave immediately?" I questioned

"Erm..." He stuttered

"We have a client coming in for a meeting this morning, but some of the paper work got lost." he answers. I eye him suspiciously, but nod as he gets up to shower and change.

Harry's pov-

I don't have a clue how I thought to say fucking paper work was lost, what a pathetic excuse, I'm pretty sure she doesn't believe me, but she can't know I about my job not yet, the last thing I want is Ruby getting hurt, and my job could be the cause of that. After I'm showered and dressed I say goodbye to Ruby who's still seems slightly pissed with me but I'll have to sort that later. I get in my car and drive to work, planning out questions to ask at this interview. When DC banks called me into work he told me I would be interviewing Peter Reynolds for Zoey Reynolds murder case, he's our main suspect at the moment based on what Kyle Foster, Zoey's boyfriend told us but I can't help think there's something not right with him...

Sorry this is update is short and not very exciting, but we'll try and do two long updates Wednesday and Thursday night!
