I stood close to Brooke throughout the school day... mostly because she is still rather jumpy ever since Derek. Even though they caught him, her and Peyton are still scared which is completely understandable. Our conversation was interrupted when Chase ran into her.

"Oh... I'm sorry." He said, stepping off his skateboard and joining us on our walk.

She took my hand, "It's okay."

"I heard about the stalker thing... I called a few times."

"Yeah, we know. We saw." I glared.

"Hey, we gotta go see Peyton so... See ya." Brooke said, pulling me with her, "You managed to hold in your anger... I'm impressed!" she teased.

I rolled my eyes as we headed to Peyton. She was still in bed so Brooke decided to throw clothes at her and tell her that she needs to shower.

"I'm still afraid... I feel like I need to SEE that he is locked up and gone." Peyton sighed.

"Maybe that would be good for you...both of you." I said, even though I wasn't fully comfortable with the idea, "Just... be careful, okay?"

"We will... come over later before we go, okay?" Brooke smirked, giving me a kiss before they headed out.

I went to talk to Lucas about the point shaving scandal to see Haley there as well. "Nathan thinks that this might just go away... what do you think?"

"This won't just go away, Hales. Luke is just a sub... once they move on from him they'll move to the starters, like Nathan." I said.

"How bad can this get?"

"Well, he won't go to jail." Luke started, "But he won't be going to Duke either."

We all shared looks of concern and Haley was the first to speak. "Lucas, I love you and I hate to ask this of you. But, I know you aren't going to be playing in the future... because you can't. But, Nathan is and this has been his dream. Forgive me, but would you consider it at all about taking the hit?" she pleaded.

I widened my eyes at first because it wasn't like Haley to ask such a big favor out of someone who was like a brother. She didn't want Lucas to answer right away, so she left in order to give him time to think.

"When did high school become so difficult and fun!"  I teased.

Lucas breathed out a laugh, "She's right though... I don't have anything to lose here. Nathan does."

"So what are you saying, Luke?"

"I'm saying that I am gonna go to Whitey about point shaving. I'm gonna confess."

I arrived back at Brooke and Peyton's to see that they have started doing research about their attacker.

"His real name is Ian... Ian Banks." Peyton started.

"He had a girlfriend named Maggie... there was this car accident and she didn't make it out." Brooke said, showing me the article.

"Maggie looks just like you, Peyton." I shook my head, "So, what? He was trying to find his new Maggie?"

"We don't know, but we're going there now to see him." Brooke replied, planting another kiss onto my lips. "I love you."

I headed back to the school for Lucas' press conference. He was getting ready to stand before cameras and teammates and come forward for shaving points during the playoffs. However, Nathan and Haley stood at the microphones as Lucas took a spot next to me.

"I didn't compete to the best of my ability. I betrayed a game that has always been really good to me... But worst of all I betrayed teammates who became like brothers to me, and I betrayed two of my brothers who were teammates." He said, looking towards Lucas and I. "I'm sorry I disgraced this game." He finished, taking Haley's hand and retreating back to the school.
