"All I am saying is I have seen how this could get, Brooke. I am okay with helping her but she can't be babied!" I said.

We had been fighting for about a week over this... she had brought Rachel home instead of taking her to the facility. I understood why she did it, I was just worried that if Rachel ever decided to go back to her ways... Brooke would blame herself. She already does!

"I know that, and we won't! Now, I'm gonna head to Macy's before my meeting... are you going to meet me there?" Brooke asked.

I nodded and sighed, "You know I will be there... I'm just gonna shower and I'll join later."

Brooke smirked and gave me a kiss before she headed out. I hopped into the shower to take a quick one, but I found myself thinking in there. My father was the good guy in all of this... my mother was the liar. It made me wonder if Haley knew or not... I had all of these questions. That's when a pair of arms wrapped around my waist and I obviously thought they were Brooke.

"I told you I would meet you there!" I laughed and turned to face her, "Rachel! Get out of here, what are you doing?"

"Oh come on, it's not like we haven't showered together before."

"That was high school, Rachel! I'm engaged... to Brooke! This isn't happening!" I said, storming out of the bathroom.

I spotted Brooke talking to Lucas and Lindsay in the mall and darted over there.

"Quick, kiss me Toby! They're doing it!" Brooke laughed.

"Don't gotta tell me twice!" I smiled, lifting her up and placing a kiss on her lips.

We said our goodbyes and headed to go upstairs, but we were halted.

"Well, hello darling!" Victoria smiled, then glaring at me, "and you..."

"Why are you here?" Brooke questioned.

"The meeting was pushed forward, and it went well! It was all business anyway sweetie, it would have went over your head. You're dismissed, just go play!" she smirked and turned around and left.

"Someday, you're gonna get out from under her... I know it." I said, giving her a squeeze before heading out.

We arrived at Lucas and Lindsay's party on time, and the first thing I noticed was Haley looking sad. To anyone else, she looked normal, but to me I could see it.

"Hales, what happened to calling your brother when things were rough?" I said, taking a spot beside her.

"What do you mean? I'm fine!" she smiled, but it wasn't HER smile.

"Haley, come on. You can't fool me, so what is it?"

She sighed and pulled me along with her so we were more alone. "I caught Nathan with Carrie..."

I scrunched my eyebrows, "Define 'caught'."

"They were in the shower together... Nathan said he didn't want it or anything but it just LOOKED so bad."

I sighed, flashing back to this morning with Rachel. "Maybe you need to hear him out... Nate loves you. And just because it LOOKS bad doesn't mean it is bad, okay?"

She nodded and gave me a hug as Nathan and Jamie joined us.

"Can we play rock band, mamma?" Jamie asked.

"Maybe later, okay?" Haley answered, heading back to the party.

Nathan sighed and darted after her and Jamie headed elsewhere. I chose to follow Jamie, grabbing Brooke along the way. We found him in his room, holding a picture of him and his mom and dad.

"Those are the two people that love you the most in this world." Brooke smiled.

"Well, not as much as us." I teased, getting a small smirk out of him.

"I just wanted to play with them... as a family." he sighed.

"Listen, buddy, mom and dad just have some issues going on... they gotta fix themselves before they can do more, okay? Just be patient." I said, giving him a squeeze.

"Is that why you guys are so happy? You help each other first?" he asked, looking between Brooke and I.

"Yeah. We're happy because we communicate, no matter what. Even if we think it could upset the other, we talk it out first." Brooke said, sending me a wink.

At first, I smiled. Then I remembered that there is only one thing I haven't shared yet, but it was because we were just too busy and people were everywhere. We said our goodbyes to everyone and headed home.

I started to take my shoes off when I noticed an empty envelope in Peyton's hand.

"What's that?" I asked as Brooke joined us.

"Rachel isn't here... neither is the money. She's gone, nice try Brooke." Peyton sighed, then heading to her own room.

"I can't believe this." Brooke sighed.

"Brooke, there's more..." I started, getting her attention, "Did you mean it, though? When you said we will talk everything out first?"

She nodded, "Of course... what is it?"

"This morning, after you headed out to Macy's, I showered... and Rachel came in too, but I thought she was you. The moment I noticed it was her I left and came straight to you, Brooke. You need to know that." I pleaded.

She let out a breath, "You and Rachel have shared a shower together before..."

"Brooke, don't do that, come on. That was a long time ago. I left her in there! I am here telling you this..."

She bit her cheek and then nodded as she wrapped her arms around my waist, "I know you wouldn't do it."

I sighed in relief and wrapped my arms around her even tighter. She let go and then turned to leave.

"Where are you going?" I asked, thinking it was me.

"Just to my store... I think the best there." She smirked, giving me a kiss before leaving.

I took a deep breath and headed to bed.
