It was about an hour into the dinner, and I did as Bruno suggested. Loosen up.
I actually found myself laughing. Snorting like a pig at that. "You used to wear an elvis suit? That is so cute." "Well, hey." He popped his collar. "A boy has got to start somewhere." He laughed and so did I.
"When did you come to California?" I asked out of curiosity. "I moved right when I graduated high school. I had to take a chance in this music business." He said. "Then, I was signed to Motown, but then they dumped me." I was shocked by that. "Really? That's awful." "It just wasn't my time. But I've been blessed. So blessed to be where I am today." He explained. "Haha hashtag blessed!" I laughed. "Ayee that's a good one. I may put that in a song in the future."
"It's so...basic. So corny." I said. "But it comes from an extremely beautiful girl." He said. "Thank you....you're really sweet." I said. "Its the best I could do." Something was different about him. If he was playing a game, he was playing it well.
"So, what kind of music are you into? What is your preference." I dropped my head at Bruno's question. "You may think it's weird, just like my friends, but I grew up listening to Classical music. Beethoven, being my favorite, Mozart, Amadaeus, Bach, the list goes on and on." Bruno smiled. "Classical music is a beautiful work of art. The beauty in the sound of a piano is very mesmerizing. I didn't grow up listening to it, but I've grown up to respect it. Don't be ashamed in loving it." Bruno said. I couldn't help but appreciate his words. Not even Faith or Charlie would say that to me.
"Do you like to travel?" Bruno asked me. "I want to travel, but with my job, it's held me back from doing it." I answered. "If you had a free schedule, where would you want to go? Where is your dream vacation destination?" Bruno asked. "Probably Paris. I love art, and they have the best art there is. Maybe see the Eiffel Tower." I answered. "But a girl can dream though." I added. "And sometimes dreams can come true." Bruno smiled. I couldn't help but put a smile on my face as well. He was a true gentleman.
"Well, are you ready to go? I know you have work tomorrow. I want to respect your schedule." Bruno said. "Yeah."
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••The car ride was less awkward than the way up to the ship. When we arrived to my home, Bruno, once again, came around, held my hand, and assisted me out.
He walked me to my door, and said, "Thank you for joining me tonight." He smiled. "You're welcome. Goodnight." I held my hand out to shake his.
He shook my hand, then put his hands in his pocket, to keep them warm. I unlocked my door, and he watched me go inside, but made no effort to leave "Goodnight." I said again, hoping he would leave my doorstep. He smiled, "Goodnight." He said in a whisper. By now, he started heading to his with his hand still in his pocket.
