March 2, 2015

My alarm fired off at 6:30 in the morning. The sun was already peeking it's way from behind the mountains and the birds were chirping their morning hymn.

I took a quick shower, and treated myself to a bowl of Cheerios hidden in the top pantry, and before departing, I gave Bruno a kiss on his head. I don't care how many arguments we come upon, I'll always have this sense of love and care for him.

I couldn't believe it. I'm on my way back to my old job. I couldn't help, but just smile throughout the whole car ride. Not only am I back home, I'm back to what I love doing. Investigating justice.

It was 7:45 and I already arrived to the headquarters 15 minutes before my official clock in time. It was going to take some time to get my name back up to the positive light, because as of right now, the whole department knows why I left.

I walked over to Justin's office, but he hadn't come in yet. I decided to walk over to Wyatt's office, and he was on his computer sipping on a cup of coffee.

I knocked on the door, before entering, and Wyatt looked at me, not escatic like he used to, but not angry. "Hey Genevieve." He greeted. "How are you this morning?"

"I'm really happy. Happier than ever." I say with a smile. "Well I'm happy you're back. Everything will finally be back in order now that you're here." He said.

"So now that Spencer is...dead, who's going to take his place?" Just me saying the name "Spencer" I could tell, it put Wyatt's stomach in a knot. "I really don't know. We have to call the board that we need a new chief and they will evaluate us for a month. Then they will make the decision." He said.

"Well, I hope you get the position, I know you're capable." I say putting my hand on his shoulder. "Thanks Eve. It's just going to be very different without him here. I just want to make him proud." Wyatt tried to force a decent smile. "You will." I retort.

"Genevieve! Come! Wyatt ! You too!" Justin called us to his office. "Looks like you could have some competition though." I said with a giggle. "A really large competion." He mumbled.

"Good morning Ms. Reynolds and Mr. Henderson." Justin said. "Good morning Mr. Richards." Wyatt and I simultaneously said.

Justin closed and locked the door, and shut the blinds. "So I know you have something you need to tell us, involving the case. What is it?" Justin sat at his desk. "Why do you assume I have something to tell you?" I giggled. "I can read it all over your face. It's just us. Whatever is said here, will not leave this office."

"A couple of months ago, the killers came to my house. One of them deliberately tried to sexually assult me. I haven't told anyone. Not Bruno, not Faith or Charlie." I said. "Did you press charges?" Wyatt asked, like the concerned man he was of me. "I wanted to, but I wanted to find them on my own."

"Genevieve, I know you want to save the day but like come on...." "It's fine, I can identify one of them now. One of them has a cut on their arm. A deep one." I said.

"The next thing I want to tell you." I added. "I don't need my relationship with Bruno to affect my job." I said. "He has nothing to do with this anymore. We don't need to question him on anything whatsoever." I clearly said. "Agreed." Wyatt said. "I agree." Justin added.

"So when are we going to start with the case?" I asked. "I want to start now. But I just don't know where and how." Justin said, looking worried and stressed.

"Well, I know the killers are here in the department. They've been here before." I said. "Genevieve, you sound crazy. If they were working here, I think we'd know that." Justin said. "You asked me to come back right? Don't question me and my knowledge." I said. "Who do you think it could be?" Wyatt asked. "I don't know, but I'm destined to find out."
