Today was was the day of Wyatt and Charles' trial. I chose not to go, because it was too hard for me. I couldn't be in the same room with them anymore. It wasn't professional for me to do so, but that was a blame I was willing to take.

Bruno and I decided to have a breakfast for ourselves here at his house. "Thank you baby." I say as he hands me a plate of food. "You're welcome." He smiled and kissed my forehead. "I'm sure we're both relieved now that your part of the investigation is over." Bruno said to me. "Yeah. I feel refreshed now." I take a sip of my black coffee and say, "Now I have more time with you." "Baby, any time with you is a great moment."

"Hey, let's go out and enjoy the day." Bruno says as we're laying in bed watching television, like the kids we were. "Okay, where will we go?" "I don't know, wherever life takes us." He took my hand and kissed the inside of my wrist. "As long as it's with you, we can go anywhere." I was head over heels for this man. Madly in love. There was no other, that could take his place. He was the man that I had been wanting, but was too scared to look for. He changed me. He changed me for the good.

"So Bruno where are we going?" I finally asked in the car. "You'll see." He said with a smile on his face. I put my hand on his thigh and just caressed it. And with not being aware, I was moving up. "Eve..." Bruno cleared his throat. I quickly moved my hand, but Bruno couldn't help but laugh. "Don't worry, we'll have fun tonight." He bit his bottom lip.

We pulled up to the FBI headquarters and I tilted my head in confusion. "Our day together is here? Okay, jokes over Bruno. Let's go somewhere." I laughed, but Bruno didn't. "This is where I planned for us to go. Let's just...go inside." I rolled my eyes, frustrated that the moment when I don't have to be here, something is dragging me back.

We walked inside and a security officer says, "Welcome Genevieve." He smiled. He wasn't the usual officer sitting at the front desk, but I didn't mind it.

Bruno took the elevator up to the fourth floor and once the elevator doors opened, a loud cheer roared upon me. Those who once glared at me, probably even hated me, now smiled at me and applauded for me. But why?

"Bruno what's going on?" I turned around and he joined the crowd by clapping. "Surprise" He laughed. "What's going on?"

"Genevieve!" I heard Justin call me. I tried to look over the heads of everyone, until they parted a way for him. "Welcome. I'm glad you came. Thank you, Bruno helping me out with this." Bruno handed me cup of punch, since I wasn't a drinker. "You're welcome. Anything for my baby." He wrapped his arm around my waist.

"I'm flattered, but what is this for?" I asked. "You really changed the light of the FBI by putting your own life at stake for all of us for catching Wyatt and Charlie. But, you kept fighting. You never gave up on any of us and I admire that about you. We all do." Justin said. "And we've gone too long without a leader and I wanted to be the first one to congratulate you on being the leader you are. I know you've been fighting for this spot for years and with your hard work and dedication, Genevieve Reynolds, do you accept the offer of becoming the next chief of the Los Angeles Federal Bureau of Investigations?"

My eyes watered. I was speechless. I looked back at Bruno who had the biggest smile on his face. I fought so hard and so long for this position I'm finally being offered to take it. "I am honored to be your chief." Everyone applauded once again and cheered. "Well everyone, put your drinks up and let's welcome our new chief, Genevieve Reynolds."

Tears of joy ran down my mildly sunken cheeks. "Genevieve, let me speak with you privately, very quickly." Justin pulled me to the side and he drank his beverage before speaking. "The board came in two months back, a time put you on a work leave. They needed a new chief. I was practically running things during the time, that they automatically gave it to me." Justin said. "But, I know this department needed a change. Not the bullshit that Spencer had running through these halls. So I told them to give it to you." I teared up. "But...why? Why would you give up that kind of opportunity? How could you throw it all away for yourself?" I asked. "I gave up nothing nor did I throw it away Genevieve. It just wasn't for me. That seat has been set for you ever since Spencer died. I trust you, that you will guide us onto the right path. You are the future Genevieve." Justin concluded.

I set my drink down and embraced Justin and humbleness. "Thank you." I whisper in his ear. "....for everything."
