Today was my first official day as Chief Reynolds. I felt as I walked in, I earned respect in this department. I earned a team of people who have my back. I unlock the door to the office which once belonged to Chief Quinn Spencer. When I walked in, my tag was already placed on my desk, letting people know who rightfully sits here.

A vase of flowers were placed on my desk with a card sitting within. I placed my belongings onto the floor and onto my desk. I took a seat and opened the card.

As your first day as Chief Reynolds, I give you these flowers to not only brighten up your day but your future. Thank you for loving me and I promise, to love you until days end. You are my sunshine. You are my happiness.
-Bruno

I smiled reading every word on this card. However there was something else. There was a small frame laying on my desk, faced down. I picked it up, to see a picture of Bruno and I on one of our previous dates. I propped it up and everyday, I can look at it and say, "I'll see you when I get home, baby."

I turned on my computer, thinking of how great my first day is going. "Genevieve, you have a caller on line one." Justin knocked and said to me. "Stay in here, while I take this call." I said. Justin nodded his head and closed my door and took a seat in front of my desk.

"This is Chief Reynolds, how can I assist you?" "Good morning chief, um we have a situation here at 10885 Harrison Avenue." My heart raced, but I remained calm. "What's the situation." "We have a man and a woman here and.." "...and what? What's their life status?" "They're deceased, ma'am." "Homicide or self-inflicted?" "The male, self-inflicted gunshot wound in the mouth. Female, possible homicide." The officer said on the phone. "Have you identified them?" I asked. My muscles were trembling. "Brandon Longhorn and Genesis Reynolds-Longhorn." I kept my composure and said, "I'll bring a team over. Thank you."

I slowly placed the phone down. "What happened?" Justin asked. "A suicide and homicide took place." "Oh no." He said. "What's the address?" "10885 Harrison Avenue" Justin squinted his eyes and said, "That address sounds awfully familiar." "Yeah, because we've been there before." I say.

A tear fell down from my eye and Justin asked, "Genevieve, who lived there?" I wiped the tear with my hand and said, "My sister and her husband. They're dead." I say. "Genevieve....I'm so sorry." "Go find me a team." I say with my chin and chest high. "....and let's go to work."
