It was noon, and Bruno and I just spent the day at my house. We were both too stubborn to apologize to each other, so we just brushed it off. I'm sure Bruno understands where I'm coming from with this. I'm not taking any chances for him to be harmed.
"Are you going to the studio today?" I asked Bruno while leaning on his chest. "I should, but I don't really want to." He said.
"I understand." I responded. "Just another off day. Nothing wrong with that." I added. "Yep." Bruno said.
He was most definitely making things awkward between us, and I didn't like it at all. "Is something wrong Bruno?" I asked. Bruno leaned his head back, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "No babe. I just didn't sleep well last night." He said.
I turned my body towards him. "Is something on your mind?" I asked. "Just stressed. That's all. Not anything big." I felt like he was lying to me. "Stressed? About what?"
Bruno put his hands on his face, and rubbing it downward. "I feel like you're going to leave me sometimes, just from the shit I put you through."
"Why would you think that?" I asked. "I just...I don't know. I feel like I haven't been there for you, like I should be." Bruno softly said to me.
"I don't want to be the reason why you fall out of love with me. I don't want to be the reason why you want nothing to do with me anymore."
I stroked his face and said, "Bruno..." I took a deep breath. "I've never planned on leaving you again. When we broke up, that was one of the worst pains I have ever experienced. We're going to argue, we're going to have disagreements..." I grabbed his hand and held it. "But that won't change my love for you." I said.
I scooted closer to Bruno and said, "I've never been in love before, but I'm glad my first time is with you." Bruno's eyes glistened as they were pasted on me.
Bruno tilted his body towards me, giving me a kiss. Every kiss I gave Bruno was like our first. My stomach filled with fluttering butterflies.
Given this wonderful time, Bruno and I kept our lips glued together, until it was interrupted by a phone call. "Let it ring." Bruno kept his lips on mine. I opened one eye to see who it was.
I noticed that it the caller ID was Faith. "Baby, I have to take this call. I'm sorry." I parted my lips from his and answered the call. "Yes Faith?" I answered. "Yeah, um, we're going to have a little delay right now." She said. "Why?" "Chief Spencer had a heart attack." She said. "Is he still alive?" "I don't know, but the department is going to the hospital to check on him." She said.
I was shocked, yet I was concerned about the phone records. "Did you at least get the name of the phone company?"
"Faith we have to go now!" I heard someone yell on the other side. "Come to the hospital, and I'll tell you there. Okay? Just meet me there." Faith hung up the phone.
"What happened?" Bruno asked. "Nothing." I said. "Well its definitely something. It seemed quite important to you." He said "It's fine. I just need to go run an errand with Faith." I stood up. "I won't get mad. Just please tell me what happened." Bruno begged.
I gave a sigh before saying it. "My former boss, had a heart attack. He's being rushed to the hospital. Faith wants me to go up there." I said. "Oh my God, that's horrible. I'll go with you." Bruno said. "No, it's fine Bruno, I think I should just go alone."
"Genevieve, I'm coming to support you. It will at least make me feel better knowing that I went with you." He said. "I'm going to get dressed." He added.
